She was afully alone in grade school, and I never talked to her. I thought everyone was going to hurt her if I did. She was very shy and timid, and when she'd speak she'd begin to tremble and twist one foot side to side, looking down as her long bangs fell in front of her blue eyes. I noticed, one day, that this girl, however shy, approached another girl she had long been searching for. They two became the best of friends. I saw them hanging out at recess everyday, but there were times when either of them weren't at school. A few months of being best friends, soon turned upside down and I saw the two become their old selves again. Especially the girl I knew from class, she became timid and stressed all throughout the last year I saw her. I learned that she was moving away, to somewhere I knew not, but I felt a burning inside my chest as if I were going to see her again and that I'd finally have the chance to love her...the way I always dreamed. I waited and I waited. I never lost hope.
One day, I somehow forgot to think about her, and everyday since, I started to forget about the first time I saw her. She was a transfer student, my teacher gave attendance and called out to our new classmate, "Leah June, won't you stand up?" She was behind me, I had to turn around to meet my eyes with hers. She smiled at me. Her eyes glittered with the knowledge of new life and adventure. I felt her inside my heart, so strongly, that I imagined her from a different world, a separate universe. *I cannot believe that she is real* I thought. Maybe in that one moment, of peace, of magic, I might've fallen in love. But how could I have forgotten about that beautiful day, that girl?? Leah June....
Leah..."June."
