I Want to Know You

I've prepared myself for today. I woke up early, and left home on time to school. I love to learn new things, especially when it has something to do with the past, present and future of the earth I live in. Yes science, and even more specifically - Paleontology and archaeology. Today I have a slideshow for my classmates and teacher, and I hope I pass this subject. If today goes the way I've prayed for, then I'll be able to get a better job in science and I'll be able to ask out my beloved sweetheart on a date and have a full wallet.
I know money isn't as important as a true love, but sometimes doing something special for someone you love is what matters and those things often cost money, yet the truth behind the smile of your dearie is the thought and time you've put into the date night and how much you had to suffer through just to get right where you wanted to be. You worked for it. And you loved it because you love your beautiful darling.
That's what I aim for today. I hope to accomplish my dreams and also hope to be with the light and love of my life, my world, as soon as I can and then on forever. I pray that she'll accept me. I'm imperfect. I have flaws. I have a temper sometimes, and I'm alone a lot. I listen for her voice wherever I go. I seek her touch. I wait around to see her smile shine.
Today is the day I show her that I'm around. I hope she remembers me. I hope she'll want to know me, like I want to know her.

Landon raced to class, it was quick, he got it done and over with and left with a happy bright smile, one thing that happens too little for the public eye. He ran down the stairs, No time for elevators, ran for the city bus and barely caught it on time. He knew that today he'd find Leah at the mall. Landon had gone out with three of his best buddies two weekends ago and saw her in the jewlery shop paying for a friendship bracelet. And again, the weekend after Landon and his sister went to check out some items at a clothes store. Leah was looking for new shoes.

Back in her childhood town, her home and she's already shopping for new things.
"Hey I'm gonna be back in a minute, going to try something new. You need anything lil bro?" His sister called out.
"Yeah, can I borrow five bucks?"
"Hm. Sure!.."

~
Landon crossed the hall of the indoor mall and came by Leah.. for the first time in a long time, Landon spoke to her. Leah was standing at the checkout scrambling through her purse looking for loose change. "Um, miss..." *ahem* Landon brought her attention to what was held in his hand. "I uh, I think you dropped this?" Leah looked down and noticed there five dollars in his hand. "Oh..? I did?"
"Yeah.. Here." Landon smiled and hesitantly but went for her hand and gently gave her the five dollars. "Have a nice day.." Landon softly spoke.

He knew that if he didn't help her then when he could've, he may have not been able to erase that one moment, when he could've done something, from his mind. He wanted to help her, and so he did. And his sister saw it all.

I hope I'll see her again.

Dear Leah, you're the one person that makes sense to me, yet you're the biggest mystery I've ever faced. And I want to truly know you, you for who you are. Not for who I think you are or who I want you to be.
I want to know You.
If not now, then one day, and when that day comes, I'll be thrilled and happy. I'll be able to smile the way I use to, the way you always made me smile.
