"i'd never stand a chance." x the sound of your laughter fills the hallway of liberty high after your best friend, zach, tells you a joke. little did you know that scott reed, who had been in love with you for so long, felt a pang of jealousy as he saw how happy you were with zach.
slamming his locker shut due to frustration, zach runs over to his teammate, wanting to know the problem.
"is this about (y/n)?" zach asks scott, a concerned tone recognizable in his voice.
"yeah, i mean, she's basically perfect. i'd never stand a chance," scott sighs, not realizing that you were standing behind him.
"never say never," you smirk as you walk past the baseball players, handing scott a piece of paper with your number on it. "call me!"
a feeling of joy suddenly replaced his doubt, and for once, scott actually felt happy.
