The evening was creeping up from behind the skyline, but it felt much later to the white haired female than it should have. But then again, she had been experiencing some jet lag as she had been out of town for a few days and it was really catching up to her now.

Larkin closed her silver eyes for a moment, which didnt help much as she was now very tempted to fall asleep in the front seat of her parked car. It was oddly comfortable at the moment but she knew she had a girlfriend waiting inside the house and she didn't want to keep her waiting any longer than she already had to see her.

She reached over to the passenger seat and grabbed her bag and a few binders that were full of papers that contained mostly numbers. Sometimes she hates being the world's most important accountant but other times she didn't mind. The weight of the binders at this very moment were making her seriously question her life choices.

She kicked the door open and stepped out of the car, swinging her bag over her shoulder and bumping the door closed with her hip, deciding that she would come back to get her luggage. Her home was in a less populated area, a place where she knew her neighbors wouldn't try to bother her despite her face being known by everyone. And she had sworn that if this area ever became more populated, she would be moving.

She walked up the front steps of her house and fumbled with her keys to unlock the door, but before she could turn the keys in the lock, the door swung open. This startled her for a moment, but she was happy to see what was on the other side of the door regardless.

Her girlfriend greeted her with a grin that made her instantly feel like she was home, and if it weren't for the massive binders she was hugging, her girlfriend would have jumped on her to steal a hug. Instead, the taller of the two leaned down and placed her lips on her girlfriend's, and she returned the kiss.

"Welcome home!" Mona said sweetly as she stepped out of the way so Larkin could enter the living room. Larkin gave a tired smile to her as she walked over to the kitchen table and dropped her heavy binders on it.

"It's good to be back," she said before looking up. Her exhaustion seemed to be keeping her from being too observant, because it wasn't until now that she noticed that there were candles and vases filled with flowers on almost every table and surface. The place was also cleaned and looked as though it had never been touched. Larkin looked over to her curly haired girlfriend who was wearing short shorts and one of Larkin's shirts that was a little big on her, but she thought it made her look absolutely adorable and she just wanted to pick her up and carry her around in a hug, but that definitely didn't feel like the mood Mona had worked to set.

"What's with all of this?" Larkin asked, raising one of her white eyebrows that stood out slightly against her tan-ish skin.

"Nooothing," Mona cooed while gliding over to Larkin. "I just thought I would do some cleaning and make the place look a little more comfortable. No offense but you don't seem to try to put any effort into actually making this place feel like a home."

"No offense taken," the white haired female responded as Mona placed her arms over her shoulders while Larkin held her hands on her hips, pulling her closer. "I don't have time to decorate so I'll leave that up to you. Do as you wish with the place, it's your home, too."

Mona smiled at her, then stood on her toes to plant a kiss on Larkin's lip, this time being the one to initiate it. Larkin smiled into the kiss as she returned it, finding that she craved the feeling of her girlfriend's soft lips more than she knew she had. If the kiss was intended to be brief, that train of thought was quickly discarded as the taller of the two wrapped her arms around her waist and pulled the only person she would shamelessly declare her love for closer to her.
