Chapter 40: The search

Gumball's POV
Now that Amber had gone missing, things were getting hectic. Two more students got lost too! They were Noah and then Todd. Nobody thought they were safe. Including me. Lulu was awfully upset about Grayson, and Amber! Even I was upset. The only people that were willing to be confident was Sky and Lucinda.  They were the only ones who didn't panic. It was weird. Eventually, we spread around news that me, Sky, Lulu, Lucinda and Rosie needed volunteers to help rescue the missing students. Four more people joined us, and that's when we decided to cut off the volunteering. 9 people was enough.

Authors note- The four more people that joined was Shelley Shells (a mermaid with the power of creating and summoning water), Millicent Fashone (a fashion pixie with the power of moving things with her mind), JJ THE DJ (Gumball's boyfriend, a scarecrow DJ with the power to summon animals) and Jonathan Oceania (Sky's boyfriend, a merman with the power to hypnotize anyone and anything).

We were like the Ghostbusters crew. It was really awesome, to be honest. We all packed backpacks that Lucinda had summoned up.
Each of us brought along different things. Lucinda had at least 5 different spell books in her backpack

The team was divided based on powers. The Magicians were made up of me and Lucinda. The Mermaids were made up of Lulu, Shelley and Jonathan. The Spiritual and Summoners was just Sky and JJ. And then there were The Wings made up of Rosie and Millicent. We were all ready to go. It was time.

"I remember the way. Follow me guys, and be prepared,"Lulu said,"But, a quick note. The beast that attacked me could be out there. And that beast is Grayson! Don't hurt him, I will help him."
"What if the beast physically attacks us?" Millicent asked, speaking with a bold tone.
Lulu looked at me as if to say help.
I cleared my throat and looked at Millicent, "Running is the best option we have. No harm done or else the beast will hurt us even more. Time will figure itself out."
Millicent nodded, but still looked unsure. I smiled at her, but she just shrugged. She had slung a bow and arrow set on her shoulder, and had revealed a bird tattoo.
Suddenly, Rosie put her hand in the middle, "All votes for those who know we can do this?"
I instantly nodded and put my hand on top of hers. She smiled.
"We can do this,"Lulu said with such enthusiasm, and she hit her hand in placement on top of mine. Then it was Lucinda. And then Sky. Jonathan put his hand over Sky's. Next, it was JJ. And then it was Shelley. Finally, it had come down to Millicent. She bit her lip, and frowned. But, her frown soon turned into a smile and she put her hand above Shelley's.
"TO THE WARRIORS!" Sky shouted, laughing slightly.
"THE WARRIORS!" We all repeated in chorus.

It was exactly 8pm and we were all a step from going into the forest. I could hear a growling already.
"Get your equipment ready," Sky warned us.
I nodded, and pulled out a flashlight. The others pulled out what they needed.
"3...2...1! Go in!"Lulu shouted.
We ran in and each hid behind a bush or a tree. Lulu and eye contact with me and clicked her fingers once. This signalled 'quietly go'. I rolled into my knees and crawled downwards through the murky forest. Mud was caking my entire body. Lucinda walked normally around, making eye contact with us every 5 seconds. Lulu was crawling like me. As for Rosie and Millicent, they had got their archery sets out and were looking around. JJ had called over some crows behind him. One squirrel was perched on his shoulder, carrying an acorn.

"Guys, I don't think the beast is here-"
Lulu was cut off by a deep growl.
"Everyone reformation! Back here now!"She screamed and stood up, pulling out a nerf gun.
Everyone ran to their original positions, but we were all close together. Suddenly, a hairy thing with a lot of dribble was in front of us. I saw Lulu looking it it's eyes, and there she was dropping her gun. She seemed intoxicated by it.
"Lulu!" I screamed. She was crazy.
"MILLICENT START SHOOTING! SHELLEY CREATE A STORM! EVERYONE GET TO WORK! I'LL WORK ON GETTING LULU!" I shouted.
Things for crazy. The beast was literally growling and hitting away arrows. But, Lulu was right in front of it. She was looking it in the eyes. I ran up to her, and tugged at her to pull away!
"LET ME GO!"she shouted and hissed, biting my arm.
I pulled away and stared at her. She had transformed into a mermaid. Millicent was chucking trees and bushes now while Rosie was doing the archery. Everybody was working hard, but Lulu wouldn't let go of the beast.

Suddenly, I saw Lulu twitch and then around.
"RETREAT! RUN! SHE'S ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING!" I screamed, my throat hoarse and sore.
Out of the blue, I noticed a wooden thing covered by nettles and stingers.
"MILLICENT, MOVE THOSE NETTLES AND THAT WOOD THING! THERE'S A SECRET ESCAPE!"
Millicent looked at me, and instantly moved the nettles and the wood. Everyone ran through there, other than me.

Lulu kissed the beast on the nose. She had turned back to her original self and seemed to be whispering things to the beast. I pulled her away, but then she stopped me. She gasped when she saw my arm.
"I'll help you I promise! But first we have to cure Grayson! A curse so that whenever he transforms into this beast he doesn't hurt people!" She whispered, her eyes tearing up, "QUICK! BEFORE HE HURTS ME OR YOU!"
I ran to where everyone had escaped and stopped in my tracks. They were all crowded around Amber, Blake and Todd.
