Eren's POV

After School The Next Day

For some reason, Levi wasn't outside waiting for me today. I could always go check his last block class. I was walking through the hallways that were slowly being drained of all of the students inside. I heard a familiar voice around the corner. It was Levi! I went to walk around the corner but then I heard another voice. The most popular girl at Maria Middle School. Petra Ral. I decided to listen before just barging into their conversation. "So Levi...Are you dating anyone by any chance." Levi's face stayed in his same blank stare he always had. "No. Im single. Why the hell do you care?" Levi may have spat the words at her but it hurt like hell to hear that come from his mouth. I dropped to my knees and gripped my chest as hot tears began rolling down my cheeks. Levi looked at me and gasped. "Eren! Are you okay?" He came up to me and rubbed my back but I shoved him away, almost making him fall. I got up and said some things I didn't mean like 'I hate you' and 'I see how much I really mean to you'. I ran through the halls, down the front steps of the school, and to one of my closest friends, Jean. He opened his arm and I ran into them, sobbing uncontrollably. Jean hugged me tightly and rubbed my back, shushing me kindly. I looked up at him and he looked so caring. I pushed myself away from his chest and looked him in the eyes. "What happened Eren?" Another tear rolled down my already tear stained face. "L-Levi...he said we weren't together and..." That's all I could get out before sobbing once again. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged tight again. I quieted down for a moment, hearing footsteps approaching from behind me. I felt a hand laid lightly on my shoulder and I jerked away from Jeans grasp and turned to see who it was. Levi stood there with a shocked look on his face. "Eren...what you heard..." I decided it would be best if I was calm about it. "It's whatever Levi...Maybe we are better off as just friends..." I've never really seen the dead look in his eyes fade away until right now. He looked truly hurt. "Oh...okay...I deserved that...Can we still be best friends? Please? I...I don't think I could live without you in my life, in one way or another..." I walked over to him and pulled him down by the collar of his shirt until his face was near mine. I lifted my hand and in an instant, smacked him with all the strength I had. He stumbled backward and grabbed his cheek, his breathing heavying with anger. "Best friends only Levi. Don't test me." Levi looked at me with his dead blank stare again. "Okay. Thank you Eren." There was a little bit of hate in his voice but you could tell it was at himself for losing me. I grabbed his arm and said, "Let's go home." (Hide from Tokyo Ghoul anyone?) We walked off down the street, not saying a word to each other the whole way. When we got home, I went right to my room. My mom just started her new job today so she wasn't home and Anne wouldn't be home until late since she had a meeting so it was just me and Levi. Alone in this house together. Why did he do that? I sat in the corner, crying silently. He really had my heart. A knock on my door pulled me away from my thoughts. "What do you want Levi?" He let out a heavy breath before cracking the door open and slowly letting himself in. He approached me and sat down a few feet way as to not disturb me. "Listen. I want to seriously apologize okay? I'm not begging you to be your boyfriend again or anything. I just am seriously sorry." I tried my best not to look at him but his eyes pulled me in. "It's...It's fine..." Levi scooted a little closer so he was right in front of me and grabbed my hands. I looked at him in the eyes and leaned forward so that my head fell onto his shoulder. He kissed the top of my head and I closed my eyes, taking in his scent again. "I'm not gonna beg but Eren? Would you date me again?" I lifted my head off his shoulder and looked at him again. "N-No." He frowned and i chuckled and laid my head back on his shoulder. After a little while of talking, we decided we would be better off as just friends. Best friends. So from this day forward, we are never gonna leave each others side and we will do anything for each other.

Eren's POV

(NOTES: Eren is 17 and Levi is 19. Eren is now taller than Levi. Levi lives on his own while Eren still lives with his mom at Anne's place. Levi is one year post graduation after being held back in his sophomore year. IMPORTANT: Eren is extra feminine and wears girls clothes sometimes. Don't judge him)
