Hippolyta caught Alex by the elbow as she stumbled a bit. "Are you all right?" she asked, stopping their progress to lift Alex's chin and look closely at her face. "You're very pale. And your eyes are unfocused," she said with concern.
"I'm okay," Alex said weakly. "It's just been...a hell of a few days. Days? That's all? Wow...," her voice trailed off, "...six hundred and forty five..."
Diana turned to look more closely at Alex. "Alex? Alex!" She quickly looped her good arm around Alex as her knees started to buckle. "She's blocking me again." Diana turned her head toward Hippolyta, worry all over her face. "I need to...wake her up again. The horrors of the past few days are starting to creep back in. She needs more time than we have to heal on her own. She's going to lose consciousness while her mind focuses on counting the blank spots in her memory if I can't snap her out of it. If she goes down I don't know how long she'll be out for."
Hippolyta looked at Diana and raised an eyebrow. Diana nodded, the tiniest movement of her head. "Be quick. The council will be impatient. I'll distract them as long as I can," she said as she turned to usher everyone down to the chamber doors.
As the doors swung closed behind the group Diana backed Alex between two pillars and gently leaned her against the wall. "Alex. Alex!" Diana said, gripping Alex's chin to make eye contact.
Alex's eyes cleared. "Diana...I'm sorry... I thought I could delay it. This is important and I didn't want to be distracted...," and then her eyes unfocused again, "...six hundred and forty six...."
"Amare," Diana said quietly, "I need you here and now. We don't have much time. Your mind is pulling away from me again and I can't help you focus. This is the fastest way I can think of to strengthen our connection and snap you out of this," she continued to murmur in Alex's ear as she slid her hand down past Alex's waistband. Alex's eyes fluttered up to Diana's face, still mostly vacant. "That's right, love. Look into my eyes. Focus Alex," she continued to murmur gently as she slid first one, then two, fingers inside her. Alex moaned slightly under her breath and Diana could see more light behind her eyes. As she slid her fingers out to press against Alex's clit awareness started seeping into her eyes. "Diana," she moaned with more strength and locked her eyes onto Diana's. There was a sudden surge in Alex's empathy. Diana quickly contained it so it wouldn't bleed over to the people nearby and began to move her hand faster and faster, deeper and deeper, desperately aware that they were extremely short on time. Alex's eyes went out of focus, this time for reasons other than mental retreat, and she knew Alex was about to climax.
"Excuse me, Princess," a voice said softly from just down the hall to her left. "The council sent me to..."
"She's...we're coming. Tell them we'll be right there," Diana said as she felt Alex crash over the edge, her orgasm gripping Diana's fingers with rhythmic waves that kept growing in intensity.
"Yes, of course, Princess," the voice said as footsteps retreated down the hall.
"Did you...?" Alex tried to say after her body stopped twitching. She took a shaky breath, swallowed, and took a deeper breath, "Did you just tell her I was coming right in the middle of...?"
Diana chuckled deep in her throat. "Welcome back," she said, pulling her hand out from between Alex's legs slowly, and steadying her on her feet. She caught Alex's eyes as she brought her fingers up to her mouth and licked them. "Taste?' she asked with a wicked grin.
Alex groaned, "Gods Diana!" as her knees started to buckle again.
Diana grinned wider as she caught Alex and said quickly "We have to go. The council is nothing if not perpetually impatient and, in this instance, time is of the essence."
