Once Beverly and Richie got to the quarry rocks they usually hung out at, the rest of the losers were already there.
The losers all turned around in unison once they heard the two come up behind them. The first thing that most losers saw was that Beverly and Richie were still holding hands, the two didn't really seem to think anything of their hand holding, but the other losers saw their hand holding and assumed something more than 'best friends'
"Is this what y'all wanted to talk about?" Mike asked looking between the two of them and down at their hands.
Everyone looked at little confused, even though it was normal for friends to hold hands. Eddie on the other hand looked hurt. He looked confused too, Eddie really hated emotions sometimes.
Richie and Beverly both looked and their hands, laughed at Mikes comment, and then separated.
"No, no, no, we were holding hands for like... a moral support kind of thing? If that makes sense," Beverly said laughing at the end.
"M-moral support for wh-what?" Bill asked.
Richie looked down, thinking of if this was the best idea or if he should've waited a little longer.
"I uh- s-so I don't know," Richie sputtered out.
'Damn should've practiced this in my head. Or would've that been weird to plan out a script in your head?'"Hey don't s-stutter that's my th-thing!" Bill passively yelled laughing. Most of the losers laughed at Bill's comment too, but Richie stayed quite.
Eddie looked at Richie and raised an eyebrow. Richie was nervous? And it was noticeable? Everyone knew when Richie was nervous he usually just made a stupid joke and laughed off his nervous before actually telling them his problem.
Richie looked up at Beverly who gave him a small 'its all okay' nod. He gave her a not so reassuring smile.
Richie looked at his five best friends in front of him, he felt bad for not telling them and not being able to tell them. It's not that he didn't trust them it's that he didn't want anyone's friendship to change. I mean it's not like they treated Beverly any different but he didn't how to get the words out.
"Yeah"— Richie began scratching the back of his neck—"so you guys know how I, um, make gay jokes all of the time?"
Everyone just slowly nodded in confusion, waiting for Richie to continue.
"I was kinda not joking...." Richie said staring at his shoes.
Richie had two pairs of shoes, they were both converse shoes and the ones he were currently wearing were old and worn out. He needed new shoes, bad. He was obviously getting off track though.
Everyone was silent for what Richie felt like was forever but was really only about ten seconds. Stan was the first to speak.
"So you're... gay?"
Richie quickly shook his head no, "not, well no. I'm kinda bisexual,"
Beverly nudged him a bit laughing. Richie snickered a little himself too.
"Okay I may be really fucking bisexual," he commented which made all of the losers start laughing.
There was one loser who wasn't laughing as cheerfully as the others. Eddie. He did seem shocked no doubt, his eyes were big and his smile was wide although he was trying to contain it.
If Richie were to guess, he would say Eddie was glad Richie had come out as bisexual. Maybe that was just Richie wanting Eddie to be happy because maybe that would mean.... nope.
Mike calmed down and grabbed his phone out of his pocket to check the time, once he saw the time his eyes got wide.
"Holy shit, guys I gotta get back to the farm. Grandpa will be pissed," Mike said pushing his phone back into his pocket. Everyone said their 'goodbyes' to Mike as he walked to his bike, mounted it, and pedaled away.
And that was that, Richie was officially out. To all of the losers. Finally. He felt a weight life off his chest once he told them they were his best friends and he hated keep things from him, and now he wasn't.
Richie was cut off by his reliving thoughts by Eddie clearing his throat "uh, hey Rich can I talk to you?"
Richie made eye contact with Eddie and oh god Eddie. Anyone who had ever seen Eddie first notices his big brown eyes. Richie had thought about the gorgeous details on Eddies face and didn't seem to have time to take it all in now, considering Eddie seemed to be waiting for Richie's answer quite impatiently.
"What? Right yes, talk yes," —Richie snapped out of his thoughts— "uh, do you wanna go somewhere?" He finished scratching the back of his neck.
"Yeah if you don't mind," Eddie said smiling a little bit.
Richie put his hands in his pockets and walked over to Eddie. Once Richie caught up to Eddie, Richie gave him a small nod and they turned away from the rest of the losers
and started walking.
