''So class, in this project, I'll give you the decision to pick your own partner. Details of this project will be discussed next meeting.'' Ms Cage said, just before the bell rang. ''And you already must have your project partner until tomorrow. So hurry up children!''

I walked out of the classroom and to my locker as Scott walked to me, ''Hey, wanna be partners?'' Scott asked, giving a light smile. I was about to speak as Alex walked up to us and gave Scott a glare, ''I'm sorry Scott, I asked first.'' He lied.

''Oh uh okay. Sorry.'' Scott looked down, ''I'll see you around then Kate.'' He looked up and smiled before walking out the classroom. I faced Alex and gave him a pinch, ''What was that for Alex?!'' I asked him.

''What? I was saving you from rapist baseball players.'' Alex reasoned, ''Count that as a point for me.'' He added. ''Scott's different, Alex. He's a nice guy.'' I said, defending a guy I barely knew .

''Oh really?'' Alex raised his eyebrow, ''You know him well?'' he asked as we walked out of the classroom and to the canteen. ''Well, we just met. But he doesn't seem harmful.'' I said. 'How could he judge Scott like that?!'

''Guess what,'' Alex said as Jessica and I leaned over to him, ''We were talking about Scott. Then Katie got really defensive of him. Hmm, what's the meaning of this?'' Alex asked. Jessica gave me a smirk, ''Guess who has a crush!''

''Nope I'm not guessing.'' I crossed my arms, ''I do not like him. It just seems bad that we judge a person we barely know. Saying the wrong words doesn't define them, but it defines how we are as a person.'' I said.

Alex rolled his eyes, ''Then there goes Katie with her spiritual life lessons.'' He sighed. I pinched Alex's arm, ''Hey! Atleast I'm right!''

''Hey hey,'' Jessica patted my shoulder, ''Look over there.'' She pointed to behind me. I looked behind me to see Scott looking at me? He began to talk with his friends just when I saw him looking, ''What's up with him?'' I asked and faced back at Jessica and Alex.

''He likes you, Katie! Are you blind to not know that?!'' Jessica said, ''You should give it a shot, y'know? You're all too focused on Yale than your own love life.'' She added.

And that was what I'm scared about. Finding love and getting hurt. I'm afraid of finding love at this time, having a boy in my life will be a big distraction for me. Well that's what I think, I don't know if someone disagrees with me but, that's just my opinion.

''I don't have time for that, Jess. I need to focus on studies, for my future.'' I gave a light smile. ''And what if you don't pass?'' She asked. ''Surely you're gonna look back at high school. You should have a little fun Kate. High school is only a once in a life time experience. Well except if you have to go back again..''

''Atleast I tried.'' I shrugged. Jess sighed and patted my back, ''Sucks to be you, Katherine.'' She shook her head lightly, looking at me in pity.

I decided to walk home today instead of riding with Zach.I thought about what Jess said, ''Does my life really suck?'' I asked myself, ''Is my life really boring? Focusing on a win or lose thing? Do I really need to find love?''

I heard footsteps behind me, and out of my curiosity, I looked behind me to see Scott. Again. ''Hey!'' He greeted, catching up to me. ''You walk home?'' He asked me, ''I haven't seen you walk home.'' He scratched his neck shyly.

''Eh, I was supposed to be brought home by Zach but I decided to walk home by myself. I needed to think about stuff.'' I shrugged, looking up at him and give him a light smile.

''Oh! I'm sorry for disturbing you, like- um, should I go?'' He asked me. ''No, no, it's okay Scott.'' I said as I looked at him. Gotta say he's very attractive. ''You walk home too?'' I asked, trying to start a conversation.

''Yeah, I live with my aunt in Drakewood Drive. Near Bryce's.'' He answered. My face lit up, ''Really? I live near there too!'' I said.

''Well, this is where I live.'' I chuckled as we stopped to my house. Scott's eyes grew wide at the sight of our house, ''Woah. Your house is like half of ours!'' He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes playfully,

''Well, I'll see you at school?'' He asked. ''Yeah, Of course you will.'' I said, waving goodbye as he gave me a wide smile before walking off.
