Michael

"Michael! Get over here!" you yelled out to your husband of three years. You were in your son's nursery trying to calm his screams. You had him cradled in your arms, pacifier in hand.

"Why is he screaming like that?" Michael yelled over his screams.

"Don't you think if I knew he would not be crying now?" I said annoyed.

"Is he hungry?" Michael asked.

"Just fed him." I said, rubbing the wailing baby's back.

"Diaper?" he asked.

"Just changed him." I said.

"Stomach ache?" Michael asked another question.

"I don't know Michael!" You yelled, making the screams get louder.

"Don't yell at me because you don't know what's wrong with the kid!" Michael yelled at you. That made you even more angrier.

"The kid? Really Michael? Well the kid is your son. The kid is our son. The kid is screaming his head for a reason I don't know, and you're making it worse by not helping. So if you aren't going to help me with the kid you can leave." I said yelling louder with each word. Michael's cheeks flushed red, and he grabbed the our son from my hands and cradled him to his chest.

"Ok, I'm sorry. Maybe we can take him to the doctors? Maybe he's sick." Michael said.

On the way back from the doctors, Michael had insisted he held the baby on the way home. He had a cold, and sore throat, so the doctor have us some medicine. Michael was with him in the back seat. When you arrived home, you looked back, smiled and laughed at the sight in front of you.

Michael was in lying down with the baby cuddled to his chest with blankets and pillows all around them. Michael was bunched up, but somehow got comfortable with a baby on him. You quickly, pulled out your phone and took a picture of the two. You reached back and brushed the hair out of Michael's face.

"My boys." You whispered to yourself.
