That evening we had Brother Haun’s farewell dinner which was the game he brought back. He then walked us home. The dinner was huge, reminding me that this was my first real meal in this world. The meat was juicy and had the perfect amount of char on it and the vegetables were smoked to perfection.
Watching YiHan joking and laughing around with brother Haun warmed YiMins heart, it was good to see YiHan so relaxed where he can act more like a kid. Seeing him like this YiMin became even more determined to raise YiHan better that ever.
Back at home they both lay in their narrow bed. After that small adventure YiMin felt her body become sluggish, but although her body was tired her brain was wired, thinking about all the things brother Haun told them plus having a enchanted pouch excited her for tomorrow. They now finally have a way to transport water and other necessities that little children couldn’t carry.
Thinking back to the past YiMin was the type that would read with her tablet until she got drowsy, but now in these circumstances all that could be done is count sheep.
“Min-Min did you like brother Haun?” YiHan’s question brings YiMin out of her thoughts.
“ Mhum, he seems like a nice person, he was really good to us.” Looking down she smiles, remembering Brother Haun’s kindness made her heart feel odd.
YiHan stares at me with a serious look, “MinMin, don’t fall in love with him, k? I’ll be the one to always look after you. You don’t need him.” He then hugs me close to him, I just stare back with a blank face, how did he reach this conclusion? But I'll have to agree with YiHan, that pretty boy smells like trouble.
Well whatever, YiMin shakes my head at her delusional brother. After explaining to YiHan that she wanted to take inventory of their items YiMin was out like a switch.
:YiHan Pov:
Laying in bed YiHan sees his little angel sleeping. This angel is none other than my sister YiMin! To YiHan there wasn’t anyone who was more beautiful than his sister. She was perfect!
Today, MinMin seemed more mature than usual, she asked a lot of questions and seriously held his hand while they walked on the uneven ground. It was like she was afraid he would fall, how could she be so adorable!
The only issue YiHan had was Brother Haun! Why was he sticking so close to MinMin? He was holding her almost the whole time! YiHan could already see signs of him liking his sister, his! but honestly who wouldn’t? She was just so cute! Although YiHans sad knowing Brother Haun has to leave he's also a bit relieved inside. His MinMin would have definitely wanted to meet brother Haun again and he knows that Brother Haun is not the type to share!
With Brother Haun leaving for a while she can focus and rely on him more. But he has to get stronger! Even though he's a level 1 Soul Force cultivator he still need more power! YiHan don't want to make a mistake and die like his daddy did leaving MinMin alone.
‘My, My, Master. I didn’t expect you to have these types of thoughts, but this is also good.’ YiHan hears a voice hat sounded scratchy and female. YiHan freaks out hearing a voice. He looks around and doesn’t see any movement in the dark, just his little angel snuggled up with him.
‘Master~, relax. I’m not a intruder. I’m the spirit within you. I’m your panther!’ Suddenly a small panther floated out from within YiHan into his lap. Just like in the forest YiHan could see it’s silky black fur and light blue eyes. The only difference was her size, she was now the size of his fist.
‘Master, I’ve waited a long time to be able to bond with someone. I noticed how we have a strong connection and decided that you were the one! You don’t have to worry about protection anymore master, I will definitely keep you safe!’
YiHan, remembering all the things Brother Haun taught him about beasts calmly asks, “So it was you that’s been following me around lately?” Gone was that playfully innocent smile that bloomed on his face when looking at his sister. Now his face was a mask hiding his emotions.
The tiny panther looks surprised. 'You knew about that? Now I feel more than ever that I made the right choice with you.’ The panther’s eyes sparkle as she begins to lick her paws contently.
YiHan had actually noticed being followed these past few days he’s been running around, but he was so worried about YiMin that he forgot until earlier today!
“Mmm, so why are you so small, what’s your name?” YiHan was satisfied with his new spirit beast, just the fact that he has a beast exited him. Next time people from the Main House tries to pick on him or YiMin his beast can take care of them.
‘That’s because I need to conserve energy. I won’t be able to appear unless an emergency occurs for a few days, as we have to solidify our bond. And I don’t have a name, I’ve never had a master who gave me one.’
Nodding his head YiHan then thinks for a second before deciding, “then how about I call you Apatite. After the mineral, it matches your eye color.” YiHan remembers the beautiful blue stone with golden flecks in it that his dad used to show him.
Apatite looks surprised, ‘Thank you master, if you need help you can come to me. Also you can speak to me in your head instead of out loud. Goodnight.’ Apatite then returns unto YiHan and he falls asleep. . . .
