Set during sometime in 1x07 – Cesar's point of view while dating Olivia
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Cesar stretched lazily on Ruby's living room floor, arranging his cards lazily, he looked up startled as Olivia let out a yell.
"Ruby you are cheating" Olivia screeched grabbing at Ruby's cards
"Hey" Ruby said indignantly "I am not – and I think PEEKING at other people's cards is what qualifies as cheating" He stuck his tongue out at her and Cesar and Jamal laughed.
Olivia giggled and climbed in Cesar's lap
"Okay Jamal you're up are you in?" Olivia asked looking at Jamal
"Well" Jamal said scratching his head "Lets see—"
But Cesar's attention was totally on Ruby's face now whose smile had slipped off his face the minute Olivia had gotten in his lap—he had quickly replaced it with a fake one but Cesar had known Ruby since they were babies he could spot his fake smiles in a minute.
He knew Ruby was into Olivia, he knew that in a normal universe him dating the girl his best friend was into was a classic douche move but this wasn't a normal universe, his world had literally become the most complicated situation ever to exist in the past few weeks of his life.
He had thought Spooky coming back was what would mess his life up but right now, poor Spooky was so far down the list he was actually making Cesar's life easier.
The person making Cesar's life the most difficult right now was – you guessed it – Cesar himself.
He had fallen for his best friend, slept with her, successfully humiliated her and driven her away, by a miracle gotten her to forgive him andddd then, he had kissed the first girl she had ever been friends with and now he has dating her while he still had feelings for his best friend.
Oh, and had he mentioned that one of his other best friends was in love with his current girlfriend? Oh yeah add that cherry on top of his crap life Sundae!
"Hey" Olivia said quietly and he snapped back and looked at her "Where are you lost?"
Thinking about how I'm probably going to hurt you like I hurt everyone else in my life because Im not in love with you, Cesar thought staring at Olivia but he just smiled at her and said "Nothing .. I'm just happy we are having this nice relaxed night together"
Olivia snuggled up to Cesar and sighed, "Me too" she said "I just wish Monse was here"
And with that, just in one second, all thoughts of the girl snuggled up against him disappeared and were replaced with the one who wasn't.
"Yeah" Cesar mumbled shifting "If only Monse was here" his words meaning something totally different than what Olivia assumed they meant. Hs stretched his leg a little giving Olivia a tight smile, "Hey I'm sorry my legs cramping up a bit"
Olivia looked at him an apologetic look crossing her face, "Oh I'm so sorry" she scrambled off his lap and sat down beside him "are you okay?" she asked looking a bit embarrassed.
Oh great now he'd insulted her! Could he do anything RIGHT?
He reached and grabbed her hand "Im fine" he said smiling warmly at her. No need to make Olivia's life hell just because his was.
Olivia smiled back at him and stood up, "Hey guys im going to make some pop corn, lets watch that horror movie we got"
"Hell yes" Ruby and Jamal chorused.
