Cesar doesn't show it much but being in a gang really takes its toll on him sometimes, and he realizes he's never taken Monse out on a date.

"Get the money to him tonight okay? Okay? are you listening to me?"

Cesar sighed and rubbed his forehead, "Of course I'm listening Spooky, when have I not listened to you? Don't worry Ill get the money to him tonight"

He clicked off his phone and threw it on his bed.

As much as he had put on an act in front of the guys and Monse, he did NOT like being a Santo. He had said he was cool with it but he wasn't, he hated it and he was constantly afraid that something really bad was going to happen.

He let out a long breath and walked to his window.

His room was suffocating him, Spooky was suffocating him, being a Santo and living in Freeridge was SUFFOCATING him.

Okay he was officially freaking out, he needed to get out of here.

Sighing heavily, he rolled towards his phone and dialled. Nothing was going to provide him with any refuge, except one thing.

"Hello?" Monse's voice answered.

"What ya doin'?" he asked playfully, trying not to let his bad mood spoil his call.

"Nothing right now—dads on the road again, so I'm treating myself with pizza while watching TV."

"Sounds exciting. What if we went," he paused, "out?"

"What? Like you and me alone? Like a date?" Monse asked in disbelief

"Yes .. out like a date .. you and me .. nowhere near here .. no one has to know and before you say no ... I have SPOOKY'S CAR." Cesar held his breathe

She sighed into the phone before responding "I could be persuaded to meet you in front of my house in half an hour."

"Sounds like a date, sweetheart." The phone clicked dead on the other end, and Cesar grinned at the prospect of a normal teenage night with Monse.

Monse sat in her yard, twiddling her thumbs as she waited for Cesar to pull up in Spooky's car.

"Five dolla'?" Monse yelled out the passenger window as she walked towards the car.

Scoffing, Cesar replied, "I'm worth so much more than five dollars" He gestured down at himself "Please!"

Slapping his thigh to grab his attention once she'd entered the car she asked "Where to?"

He tapped his chin for a moment, looking deep in thought.

"Time's a wasting, Cesar. Where are we going today?" she asked impatiently.

"Somewhere where no one really cares who the fuck we are and...." He looked out thoughtfully "Why don't we head east of LA? There's some pretty small quiet towns along there I remember correctly."

"That's vague, Cesar. You want me to just drive around suburban LA looking for a place to hang out?" She raised her eyebrows.

He put on a pout at her refusal. "Yes," he mumbled, keeping his expression after in as perfect a pout as possible.

"Alright. We'll go." She agreed quickly noticing something was off with his mood.

He nodded and said nothing else. Cesar tapped his fingers against the dash and the door in tune with the radio. The tapping kept up as the song changed, but neither of them said a word.
