After it was announced that the ball will be happening, the next day became quite hectic as pack members were all over the place trying to get things in order for the preparation of Skai's birthday ball, people were shouting at each other, things were being thrown everywhere and in the midst of all this happening, Skai was nestled in her room fast asleep. No one had bothered to disturb her and it was good that she got this much rest as school wasn't in session today, for that she was grateful for.

To think about it, she was the Bella of the Ball, it was all up to her to make the important decisions like: what kind of decorations she wants, how she wants them to be hung, what color and all that kind of stuff, but she wasn't interested in all of that, NOPE. At the moment she was only interested in sleep; that comfortable part of your day where you just relax and don't give a care in the world.

Skai had left all the ball planning to her mother and anyone else who decided to help out. It's not that Skai was lazy, she was just not that kind of girl; you know those kinds of girls, the kind that are willing to please everybody, the kind that always has to be generous and punctual and give in to all that stereotypical BS? No! That's not Skai at all, she was the type to diss girls like that if they got too bitchy.

So all that talk about 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend.'
For Skai, Chuck Taylor's, leggings and a simple tank top is her best friend and it will forever remain that way.

It was 12pm in the afternoon, Skai was just getting out of bed, stretching and smiling to herself.

'That was the best sleep I've had in ages.' She thought to herself.

Skai got up and did her normal routine, taking a shower, doing her hair and adding a little make-up, so she doesn't look like a slightly zombified werewolf.

With everything in tact, she went downstairs.

Skai's POV
After getting myself ready, I went downstairs to check on my family, being who I am I went into the kitchen first.
Of course I had to get something to eat. There was a plate of cookies, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies with white icing on top.

I went into the fridge to pour out a glass of milk.
Now I had this delicious snack in front of me waiting to be eaten, I stood there staring hungrily at it.
I took one up and put it in my mouth savoring the white creamy icing, crunchy chips and the delicious cookie.

"Hmm." I moaned enjoying it.

"Rest in peace delicious cookie." A voice said startling me, causing me to drop my cookie.

I looked up to see my dad smiling at me.

"Dad you made drop my cookie." I whined.

"You were murdering the poor cookie, my love." He smiled.

"So?" I asked taking up another one and he watched me with a smile.

"So what's up daddy? Anything new?" I asked him.

He sighed. "Well we were making patrols out in the land at your hall where we're hosting your party."

"Yeah." I said.

"Making sure that no rogues were to attack on your big night." He said in his alpha voice.

I smiled at him. My dad was always protective and now that this event was being organized he is going to be Alpha protective and when he is, I don't know who will be able to stop him.

"No one will be able to break in and ruin it right?"I questioned.

He stepped closer to me, cupped my face and kissed my forehead then connected my eyes with his bright hazel ones.

"No one at all." He said and wrapped my me in a hug; a hug that was safe and reassuring.

There was nothing that I could be afraid of when I had him.
