I open my eyes to find bright lights and a blasting headache. I rub my temples then my eyes. I feel and hand wrap around mine and squeeze. I blink a few times to clear my vison. I look to see both sets of my adopted parents and Alexis all staring at me. I look to see Alexis' hand intertwined with mine.

"What happened?" I ask with a shaky voice. I look to Alexis for answers. "You blacked out when you were showering. The doctor says you might have brain damage. He is printing your X-rays now." Auara explains with a cracked voice.

The curtain moves and opens revealing, the person I hate and fear most, John Lenshew. He hides his surprise and greets everybody. "Caspian the X-rays show a concussion you sustained when you hit the floor. You, fortunately, have no brain damage." John says putting the pictures on a light up board.

I rub the back of my head. "Caspian what happened for you to slip?" John asks. Alexis directs her head towards me. "I heard him screaming before I heard him fall." Alexis tells. John glances at me. He eyes go up and down like he is studying me. "Caspian?" John asks.

I have to lie to protect Alexis and our child.

"I don't know. I was showering one minute then the next I thing I know I wake up here." I lie. "Well since you have a minor concussion, you have to stay the night. Who would like to stay with him?" John asks. Immediately after the words leave his mouth, Alexis raises her hand. "Okay, Mom we will need a change of clothes." Alexis says. Auara nods.

Johns leads everybody out of the room. Both moms kiss me goodbye. Alexis climbs in bed next to me. "I don't like this. John is still here." Alexis says. I chuckle a little bit. "I know he seems evil but he is like me. What if he has advice? He could possibly help me figure what happened." I explain.

As if he heard his name, John strolls in with a wheelchair. "We have a place for people who need to stay overnight, follow me." John says with a friendly tone. Alexis helps me out of the bed and into the wheelchair. Alexis pushes me down a few long hallways. John stops at a door and opens it. Alexis pushes me in the room.

John walks in the and shuts the door. "Caspian, last time you were here you had a broken ankle. Now you are here for a concussion. I think I know what actually happened." John says with a serious face and tone. I nod my head to hear his answer. "I think you had a Death View." John says with confidence.

"What is a Death View?" I ask.

"A DV is when you can see how someone dies. You had a DV and you saw her," John points at Alexis, "and that you saw how your child dies." John explains.

I rise from my chair and give him a right hook. He doesn't fight back. John rubs his jaw. "I expected that." John says.

"Why the fuck did I see you in her Death View? Why did I see you holding my child?" I ask resisting the urge to hit him again. "I saw her DV too, Caspian. I don't why I am in her DV either. I didn't plan on interfering with your life Caspian. But also DVs can be altered." John explains. Curiosity has consumed me. "How can I change it?" I ask deciding not to punch him again. "Alexis DV contains you me and here. One of us has to die, so she can live, but since you and I are, basically, gods, Alexis' can't be changed. I meant other peoples can be changed." John says.

This time I go to hit but he catches my fist and pushes my slightly. "Its not your fault, Caspian. You should have listen to my warning long ago. I'm sorry." Johns leaves with room with some swiftness. A sniffle comes from the corner. I forgot Alexis was in the room. I turn my back to see her sitting on the bed with tears streaming down her face. "Alexis, I'm sorry. I didn't know that that is something I could do." I kneel in front of her and grab her hands.

"Its not your fault. Just please explain to me what you saw in my Death View." Alexis tells me. I explain how I saw her die. She is nerve rackingly still. "Okay, so I have give or take 5 months." Alexis says. I nod my head. "I swear I will fix this. I don't care if it is either me or John but you will live." I promise.

"But if you look at it this way, I can see the future." I say and that makes Alexis smile a little bit. "When he comes back in here I will ask him what all I can do." I say.

...

Alexis snores slightly. A soft knock at the door jars me from my thoughts. I slowly and quietly slip out of bed. I step outside to meet John.

"So earlier when you called us 'gods' what did you mean by that?" I ask. John laughs. "Just like we can see how someone dies, we can also see their past. I know we can do way more than just that, but as we get older we will unlock more abilities. I was born during the bronze age. So I have had time to unlock more abilities. Would you like to see someone's past? Just focus." John asks. I shake my head.

A nurse is walking towards John. "Alice, this is my nephew. Caspian, this is my dearest friend." I extend my shake hers. I grab her hand and I feel empty. Like I have never been happy.

I see a little girl getting handed a doll with a blue dress.

I see an older girl with bruises covering her arms.

I see the same girl standing with an older women over a casket.

"Alice what did you get for your sixth birthday?" John asks. I release Alice's hand. "I got a Barbie with blue dress. She was a special edition." Alice says with a smile. "Nice meeting you Caspian, but I have to go." She kisses John on the cheek then walks away.

"Well what did you see?" John asks excitedly. I stare at the wall. "Her dad abused her until she was 16, then he had a heart attack." I say with a bitter tone. "It is cool and all but it is invading." I say. John just shrugs his shoulders. "Well I have work to do, buzz if you need anything or if you wanna learn more." John says.

I walk back into the room and crawl back in bed with Alexis. I am a god. Great...
