❝We didn't change, we just grew up. There's still that kid in us, it subtly stopped coming out to play. And that is what is wrong with society. It provides you with an age limit. You can only be so old before you're unable to do things, said society. Let me tell you something. That is not true. If you're still playing with your barbies in ninth grade, there's no problem with that. If you're still afraid of the dark when you're in college, there's also no problem with that. Society told us that girls have to straighten their hair, put on 5 pounds of make up, and wear the highest of high heels they can find in order to be beautiful. Let me tell you something else. Society is full of shit. Listen to yourself, and your own opinion, not society's. If you want to walk down the street and sing while doing so, do it. If people stare at you, it's because they don't know how to do that themselves. They're too scared. You, my friends, are fearless. Build yourself up so high that no one can break you down like before. Laugh so hard that no one can ever convince you that it's fake once more. Wear what you want, say what you want, do what you want. Be yourself, be respectful, be a friend. And when you look up at the stars at night, you'll no longer have that sad expression in your eyes, you will no longer need to question why you're here. If you really believe in yourself, you can do anything. I know that's a cliché, but it's as true as it gets. Your life is a rollar coaster. Only you can determine if you close your eyes at the scary parts, or keep them open to realize that it wasn't that bad.❞
