Chapter Two

Danny's POV

I woke up to no cars, no people, no noise whatsoever. It was a strange feeling considering I lived right in the middle of the city but then realized that it was 3am and I didn't need to get up yet. It was too late though, I was wide awake.

I rolled out of bed and hit my face on the wooden floor which made a loud bang. I got up with a groan and walked into the lounge and turned on the TV, hoping to find anything to pass the time.

I stopped on the news and got up again, looking for a book to read on my shelf of books I had started but never completed. I think Quinn counted 43 books I had started but hadn't finished because the plots grew thin or I lost interest in the story line. Reading for me was a good pass time but I had to stop buying books with little detail. I didn't want to reach 50 incomplete books I'm sure I'd get a handmade trophy from Quinn because that's what she usually does.

I landed on one book I hadn't even started. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I think my mother bought it for me awhile back because I love the band so much but I had never gotten around to reading it.

By the time I had gotten to the middle of the book it was already 7am and I needed to get ready to go to Quinn's. Finally, the sounds of cars and people had returned outside and it didn't feel uncomfortably quiet anymore.

I got up and walked into the bedroom, idling at my closet for a little while before finally deciding on what to wear. I pulled out a plain white crew neck and a grey hoodie. I had nothing but black and dark blue jeans so I just settled on the black jeans. I walked into the bathroom and began heating up my hair straightener whilst putting on my usual amount of makeup. Eyeliner and lip balm were usually all I wore so I sorted that out before running the straightener through my hair. Once I had finished I put my black TOMS on and walked outside and down the street towards where Quinn lived.

She answered the door with half of her curly hair straightened. She smiled enthusiastically and let me in to her large apartment that only she lived in. It was quite sad really considering she bought it before her last boyfriend broke up with her but I know she is completely over that now which is a good thing. I spent way too many weeks holding her while she cried and ate eating ice-cream while we watched shitty romance movies. She would scream at the TV that romance was fake and I would comfort her like the best friend I'm meant to be. It was some good entertainment though I'll give you that.

The doorbell rang after some time and Quinn squealed with excitement. I could tell that she most likely spent most of her night trying to make her already neat apartment completely spotless. I'm kinda glad she won and I didn't because I'm lazy and there are clothes all over my floors. Also, I wouldn't clean it even if the Queen was coming over.

She answered the door immediately and the four of them burst through the door. She was engulfed in hugs whilst I stood their awkwardly and admired the wooden floor just like I always did when I dealt with uncomfortable situations.

"There's another one!" Ben shouted and ran over to hug me before I myself was engulfed in bone-crushing hugs. They all smelt like a combination of cheap cologne and slight body odour. I managed to squeeze my way out of the group hug and stroll over to Quinn who had a huge smile plastered on her face.

"So, who's hungry?" Jamie asked but before we could answer they dragged us out the door and lead us to the tour van.

"Do you guys like pancakes? Wait, who doesn't like pancakes?" Dan asked in a rush. I could see by his goofy smile that he was just as excited as Quinn was but maybe it was just the pancakes.
