Chapter 1-The Daily Routine
ShanesPOV
He shoved my head against the locker again. More forcefully than usual though. I couldn't stand it much longer."If you come back here gay tomorrow you might as well be dead!"
I feared his words even though I've heard them everyday since I came out to him. My best friend. Scratch that. Ex-best friend.
I was a middle class kid in high school. Until I had to have feelings for my best friend who was my protector and practically my guardian.
I couldn't change myself and he best knew it. He knew that he couldn't change me as much as I could change him."Stop! I hate you! Stop! Why do you try to change me? It's not like I can change you!"
Haha! HUUUGGGEEE mistake! He slammed my head again and shoved me on the ground."How dare you talk back to me? You worthless little f****t! Go kill yourself!"
He meant it this time. So I reached into my change pocket and kissed him.
By now a whole crowd had shown up and watched as he slowly kissed back."Shane. I'm such a butthole. I'm sorry that I've hurt you."
I just hugged him and put my head on his shoulder so I could see my arms. I pushed my razor into my arm letting blood freely flow down his back. I kept slicing at my arms until I felt dizzy.
Then I slipped out of his grip. Out of my prison.
Beep beep beep
I sighed knowing that my dream would never come true and that I had to stay here in this place people call life. Where 'kids are just being kids!' Or I'm 'worthless so I deserve it!'
I walked to my small wardrobe and pick out my smallest sweatshirt and pants. All my clothes were to big because I lost a ton of weight over the summer and my mom couldn't afford new ones.
I kept my pajama shirt on and took off my pants. My shirt would be covered in blood and vomit anyways so what was the use in wasting a new one?
I slipped into my pants and put on a belt. It would be taken off and used for my own beating later but I didn't care. I put on my sweatshirt and looked into the mirror.
All I saw was a worthless being that shouldn't be here anymore. I sighed and combed my hair.
I glanced at my clock to make sure there was minimum time to wait at the bus stop.
The bus came at 7:22 so I should go at 7:15.
After three minutes of waiting in my room I grabbed my backpack and slowly opened my door. I got outside of my room and closed it quietly.
Once it was closed I bolted down the stairs and out the door with an apple in my hand.
I had escaped the beast for now. But tonight I would get it hard.
I kept running until I reached the mark where I could see the people at the bus stop but they couldn't see me.
I stood there catching my breath and waiting for Rachel to arrive.
Soon enough I saw a spot of colors and knew she was there. I slowly walked closer and began to see her dark hair covered with a rainbow hood. When I got closer I could see her signature over-ear headphones and wires.
I went behind her and unzipped her hand-decorated backpack. I looked in to find her usual art supplies and books. I slipped my apple in there and re-zipped it.
I tapped on her shoulder and she quickly turned with a tad but of fear in her eyes until she saw my face and they filled with joy."Oh my gosh shane! I haven't talked to you since like well since school! Why didn't you text or call me? Or even answer to my texts or calls?"
