The smell of blood fills my senses, I stare down at the corpse of the person that once took care of me. My hands were cupped over my mouth, tears start to weld up in my eyes. I fall to my knees and I sit in their blood, I didn't know what to do. We lived out in the middle of nowhere. The only connection we have is his phone, which was an old TracFone. I start looking through his pockets for his phone, I find it and pull it out. I wipe the blood from the screen, I try to open it but there was a password. "Shit!" I curse, I throw the phone to the opposite side of the room. I sit up and start to cry into my knees.

After an hour of sobbing, I hear a crash in his room, on the opposite side of the house. I look around cautiously, I stand up and wipe the tears from my face. I feel my heartbeat quicken, I start to walk towards the sound. I opened my mouth to speak to ask if someone was there but nothing would come out. Fear took over my mind, I began thinking 'what if the person who killed him was still in the house?' My mind raced with possibilities. My body violently shook, I must have looked like a newly beaten dog. I crept quietly, I turn the doorknob. My mind screaming for me to turn back and run for my life, I open the door slightly and peer in. I saw nothing, the window was broken out. So I know this is how they left, I look around his room because I need to know why this happened was it for a reason or was something more sinister going on.

As I rummage through his stuff, I found a picture of him and me. I sit down on his bed, I look at It longingly. The picture was of him giving me a nickel sandwich, and I was trying to escape it. Large smiles spread across our faces, I carefully take it out of the frame and fold it, placing it into my pocket. I move my hair from my face, I look out the window and take a deep breath. "I need to go to town... I need to get help!" I stand up and change my clothes and shoes into something that I could walk in, the closest town was a good 3-hour drive. I grab his keys and start the engine, I knew how to drive but I've never driven more than 1 mile away. Don't get me wrong I have a license, but he usually drove me everywhere. The only real reason I had one was encased of an emergency and he couldn't drive, I drive down the road through the dense forest.

I leave the mile I've driven over and over again for practice, I didn't know the road to well from here. I usually space out with him driving, I focus on the road making sure I don't end up in a tree. My heart was pounding once more, I didn't know how I would explain this to the local police.

...Flashback...

I was walking through the forest taking my daily stroll, as I walk I have this odd feeling something was off about the forest. I walk around and see a fresh footprint in the mud heading towards the house, I quickly run back to the house. I open the door, the smell of blood hits me. "ERIK!" I screamed. I run through the house to see him on the living room floor, his chest had multiple stab wounds. Blood covered the floor.

...End Flashback...

I glance in the trees to see a man, I then look back at the road and see I'm about to hit a large rock. I turn the steering wheel hard, it caused it to flip and roll. I feel myself start to slip from reality, I look down at my stomach to see a huge piece of glass in my stomach. "...F-fuck..." I stuttered as I start to black out, I pull the glass from my stomach. I cut my hands open in the process, I drag myself out of the car. I feel myself slipping away from life, my heart giving out. My breathing was almost non-existent, my lungs burn, screaming for air. Everything went black.
