Close the Walls (Eyeless Jack X Reader)

Chapter 8; Fire

I woke up to a loud banging noise coming from outside, I sat up slowly. I looked down to see I was on the makeshift bed, I stood up almost falling down from still being half asleep. I look to see the fire was out, sunlight poured in from the hole in the ceiling. Everything that happened came flooding back, I looked over the the entrance. Then noticed Jack sleeping against the wall to the left of me, I heard another loud bang. My heart started to pound hard against my chest, I stood there like a deer in headlights. I thunder of footsteps fill the cave walls, flashes of fire fill my vision. My head swirled with outcomes, I slowly made my way to the exit. Voices slowly became louder, mumbles became words, those words became sentences... demands...threats.

"Find the girl! She's the most valuable person we have, (Y/N) (L/N) belongs to the U.S government." I heard a man's voice screamed, I stood in the shadows just out of sight. I heard them approaching quickly, "MEN! check that cave just ahead." He demanded, I felt my heart drop. I stumbled back and ran further in, I got over to Jack and shook him slightly trying to wake him up. He sat up quickly and a scalpel was placed against my throat, I looked at him scared.

"J-Jack we need to go." I said pushing is hand down slightly, he nodded and put the scalpel away. The footsteps are even louder now, they were in the cave. I looked up at the hole and ripped the vine down and a large branch, I tied the vine to it and used the branch like a spear.

I looked up, I blindly through it at an angle so it would land somewhere above, it landed with a loud thud. I pulled on the vine to see if it was steady, it seemed safe. I started to climb it, it was doing good when it snapped halfway. I let out a small scream I hit the the ashes and charred branches and rock, I felt a warm liquid run down my face. Anger and fear ran through my mind, I quickly grabbed Jack's hand and he pulled me up. Black ash covered my clothes, I looked down noticing a drop of red in between my feet. I touch my cheek and looked at my fingers, blood dripped off them. The familiar metallic smell finally hits my nose, I look up quickly and realize that there was an mini army standing at the entrance of this part. Their guns pointed at me I step back in fear, I felt my body warm up.

I look at Jack and he had his scalpel in his hand, I glance towards the bed and then back to the men. "Miss.(Y/N), if would kindly come with us." A man with black hair and bright green eyes, he had a little smile across his face. I felt a shiver run up my back, "you look almost how you did when I found, covered in ash and bloody." His words angered me slightly, "You're mother would of loved to see you growing up and—" anger overtook my sanity, I picked up a branch and threw it at him. A sudden smell of smoke hit me, I looked up to see it had caught on fire. I blinked a few times, he just kicked it in the pit. The flames flared up intensely, "Don't be like that, or we'll shoot." He said calmly, I looked at Jack and I could tell he was pissed. I step forward, "I'd rather die." I said calmly, he only sighed.

"I'm sorry you feel that way." He sighed heavily, "shoot them."

I sudden static noise filled my head, I felt something wrap around my torso. My vision blurred, I saw nothing but a blob of white and black. Before I passed out from blood loss, I heard I muffled voice. "We didn't need your help, Slen—" Then everything went black.
