I lied to Eli. A very big lie. I'd actually be coming home today. Not 2 months from now. It would be very hard to pull considering Eli and I talked on the phone every second of every day: texting, calling or the occasional late FaceTimes if you know what I mean.
Hot mama❤️: how's your day going boo
Me: terrible. I just want to be with you.
Lie. I was already at the airport getting some food before my flight that would leave in 30 minutes.
Hot mama❤️: well wanna talk?
Me: I'm actually gonna lay down for a few hours. Call you after?

I throw my trash into the bin and make my way to my terminal which was across the airport. When I get to my gate, I see they are already boarding the 1st group of passengers. I hand my ticket to the lady and she sends me a wink as our hands touch when she hands me the ticket back. I send her smile before walking away adjusting the straps of my backpack. Since I've been away I've been away, I've been watching tv shoes and movies that Eli swears changed her life. I pull the little booklet decorated by Eli with all of the DVDs in them. I pop in the next movie on the list, Cruel Intentions. Towards the end of the movie I look up and see we're flying into California. As soon as the credits begin to roll I close my laptop and listen to music until I see the seatbelt light turn off and I quickly remove myself from my seat.

"Are you ready to see her?" Shawn says as he shifts the gear of his Jeep. I nod.
"I missed them all." I look at the Polaroid I had in the back of my phone case. It was Eli in her favorite overalls with a pink and white striped shirt holding up the ultrasound.

Eli had written a heart and a smiley face after the caption under the picture. It was like her signature. Ever letter, sticky note and email ended with a heart and a smiley face. Sometimes I feel like she's too pure for this world. I turn my phone over and watch as Shawn pulled into Eli and I's driveway. It gets so exciting just thinking that Eli and I have our own place and will soon be moving into her dream house. I grab my luggage from the back and follow him to the front door. I unlock it and Shawn walks in first.
"Hey E!" Shawn calls and I see her barely turn from her textbooks and laptop to acknowledge him.
"Sebastian was a real dick to Annette." I say and I watch as Eli whips her around quickly. She jumps from her seat on the floor in front of the couch and to walk to me quickly. I drop my bags as she came closer and scoop her into my arms.
"Nate." She mumbled in my shoulder squeezing my neck.
"Hey baby." I pull away and place a long kiss on her lips and before I lean down and place two kisses on her stomach, "How have my girls been?"
"Exhausted." She laughed rubbing her stomach.
"You two need to let your mommy rest." I hold my hand on her stomach and I feel one of them kick, "Oh my god one of them kicked!" I smile and she nods.
"I think that one should be Ronnie. Seems like a real rock star." She laughed and I rolled my eyes putting my hand behind her neck and pulling her close to place a kiss on her temple.
"I love you so much." I laugh and walk to the kitchen to get some water.
"Are you hungry? I was planning on cooking Salmon and sweet potatoes fries but I can make regular fries for you." She smiled.
"I'll make it. You deserve a break. Shawn are you staying? You can invite Hailey. Oh Derek and Lauren too." I point to Shawn who sends me a thumbs up before exiting the room to make the calls. Eli moved back to sit on the pillow next the coffee table which was now a makeshift desk. I grab the stuff from the fridge and begin cooking. I feel a pair of arms wrap around me and I turn to see Eli lazily resting her head against my back with her eyes closed.
"Baby?" She mumbled now starting to sway.
"Yes?" I pull the last slab of salmon off the pan and put in on the plate.
"I got a tattoo for you."
"You did now?"
"Yeah it's behind my ear." I turn her grip and she pulls her hair behind her right ear. I place my hands on her cheeks and tilt her head to reveal a lowercase n in typewriter font behind the lobe.
"You're too good for me." I lean down and kiss her.
"There's only one thing you're not good at." She looks up at me resting her chin on my chest.
"What's that?" I look at her confused and she starts to giggle.
"Pulling out." She laughs loudly and I roll my eyes.
"You're going to get it tonight." I tighten my grip on her hips making her jump.
"Am I daddy?" She purred in my ear making me get hard almost instantly.
"So is dinner almost ready?" Shawn walks in the room and looks at us with wide eyes.
"Oh um yeah." I laugh looking at the oven to see when the fries would be done.
"You two are something else." Shawn smiled shaking his head. I look at Eli whose cheeks were now rosy red matching her chipped manicure. We were really something else.
