"C'mon, It'll be fun!" Matt nervously trails close behind Jimmy, looking back in the direction of the playground. What if they got lost? What if Ross and Holly were mean? What if something bad happened?

Sensing his worry, Jimmy stopped and turned to face the older boy. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah. I'm fine. Let's go." Matt forces a smile.

"Hi Jimmy!" A girl with bright pink hair runs up to the pair of boys. Matt assumes that this was Holly. She seems to be bursting with positive energy, contrasting her darker clothing. "Who's your friend?"

"Oh! This is my friend Matt." Jimmy turns to Matt. "Matt, this is my friend Holly." He nervously waves, the forced smile returning to his face.

"Hi Matt!" She smiles brightly, before turning around. "Hey Ross? Jimmy's here!" She calls to a slim boy, who is currently up in a tree. Matt hoped he didn't have to climb a tree. He wasn't good at climbing.

He waves before climbing back down from his high perch, sprinting over to stand at Holly's side. "Who's this nerd?" He snorts. Matt stares at the dirt-coated ground.

"Ross! That's mean." Holly scolds, "this is Jimmy's friend Matt."

"Oh, sorry." Ross apologizes, "Hi Matt." He grins. Matt stays silent.

Ross looks at Jimmy. "Can he talk?"

"Yeah! He's just shy."

"So Matt," Holly begins, "Do you wanna play with us?" She continues, "we're gonna go on an adventure!" She bounces excitedly. 

Matt nervously looks around the forest as he tries to make a decision. It felt like the hardest decision he could ever make. He wanted to play, but he hardly knows any of these kids!

"Uh, sure."
