It's been about three days since Loki came back. The other Avengers have gotten used to us. But there's one small problem... I'm homesick. It's not that I miss the people, I have no loving family and no close friends, but so many other things... I miss my room and my house and everything in it! I miss my books and the T.V. shows I watched that don't exist here! But there's no way to go home. And I don't want to leave Loki. Sure, he could come with me but I have a feeling, even if he won't admit it, he doesn't want to leave everyone here.

I just got back from training with Black Widow when I look at the date. It's (your birthday). Wow. I completely forgot. I mean, it's not like anyone here knows. Why would they? I'm turning 22. (Fuck guys I don't remember how old I made her in the first book and if I go check my computer will probably crash cause it's being a little shit and barely letting me type this) I walk into the living room, which is completely dark. That's unusual,  the lights usually turn on automatically when someone enters a room. "FRIDAY, turn the lights on," I say, hoping it's just a glitch and nothing worse. When the lights turn on all the Avengers jump out from behind furniture and yell, "SURPRISE!" Well, I definitely am surprised. I look around the room and notice streamers and balloons everywhere, and a banner above it that reads, 'Happy Birthday (y/n)!' I gasp, "Wow! Thank you, guys! I didn't realize anyone here even knew my birthday!" I tell them, still flabbergasted. Tony steps forward, smirking, "Well, FRIDAY scanned you, and managed to gauge your exact Birthday. I'm glad she got it right or else this would've been awkward." Clint steps forward, "Oh enough about that," He says, not giving me time to think about FRIDAY scanning me without me knowing, "Let's eat cake!"

We party for a while, eating, talking, doing party stuff, but the entire time that nagging feeling of homesickness if in the back of my mind. I try to smile and ignore it, but it's there. After about five hours the part winds down and I thank everyone before I claim a headache and head to my room. I sit on the bed and fight back tears, I don't know why I'm so upset. It's not like I had any family or many friends I would've celebrated my birthday party with at home. Instead, I get to party with The Avengers! Still... I miss my home. Just then I hear a knock on my door, I wipe my eyes and put on a smile, "Come in!" Loki walks in. He comes and sits on the bed next to me and puts his hand on my knee, "(y/n), are you alright?" I smile, "Of course! That was the best party ever!" I kiss him on the cheek, "Tell the rest of the Avengers I said thank you." He sighs, "(y/n), I'm the god of lies, you can't lie to me." I drop the charade, "You're right... I'm not ok. I'm homesick. And I can't help it." I lean against his shoulder and he kisses my forehead, "Well, I can't fix that. But I can ask Dr. Banner to try and find a way to get you home if you want." I frown, "No! That's the problem, I don't want to leave you. And I don't want you to have to leave the Avengers. And don't pretend you want to. I know you love Thor, and he would never leave them." Loki sighs, and lifts my hand up to his mouth before kissing it, "It hurts to see you to sad my love, but I simply don't know how to help you."

I lay down on the bed, and he lays next to me. I turn to him and thread my fingers through his long hair, and he wraps his arms around my waste. I gently kiss him on the lips, and whisper, "I love you, Loki." I see him smile, "You know I love you as well, (y/n)." I feel myself drifting off, "Goodnight, Loki," right before I fall asleep I hear his answer, "Goodbye, love."

I wake up without Loki, he must've left. I yawn and stretch, slightly hungover, I had a little to drink but didn't get completely drunk. I get changed and walk out to the kitchen, planning to grab some toast and head to my room for about five minutes before training with Black Widow, I've learned the hard way it's not a good idea to eat a huge breakfast before training with her. Tony is wearing sunglasses, and the rest of the Avengers don't look too good, except Natasha, she looks as sharp as ever. Tony wouldn't let Peter drink and sent him home about two hours before the party ended, so he's not here. I grab some toast out of the toaster and am about to head back to my room when I hear my name, I turn around and see Thor looking at me so I walk over to him, "Did you say my name?" He nods, "I was wondering if you have seen Loki. He is not in his room nor can I find him in the tower." A wave of panic flickers through me, and I remember Loki's last words to me as I fell asleep. I thought I had just misheard him. I shake my head, "No, are you sure he couldn't have just left?" Thor shakes his head, "FRIDAY would've notified us. He is not allowed to leave without someone because there are still many people who would like him dead." That does nothing to calm this feeling of panic that I can feel slowly rising up. "Um, well shit, I have no idea where he is." Thor must see the panic in my eyes because he puts a hand on my shoulder, "Don't worry, I'm sure he is alright." That doesn't really help, but I don't want him to have to worry about me as well as Loki so I just nod and smile, "Ok, thanks." Just then Natasha calls my name, "(y/n), time for training." No breakfast for me then.

After about three hours of tedious training and a million bruises later, I'm allowed to retreat to my room. I collapse on my bed and my thoughts return to Loki. Where is he? Is he ok? Thor promised to tell me if he found him but Thor hasn't told me anything, so that must mean he's unsuccessful in his search. Goddammit, Loki! Where are you?! The T.V in my room flickers on, fuck, that's never good.

"Heeeeellllloooo New York! Wonderful to make your acquaintance!" A man is standing in front of the T.V. He has slicked back short black hair, and is wearing a black mask around his eyes, that's all I can see, besides maybe a warehouse behind him and a bit of his black shirt. So this must be playing on every screen in New York. "I've got you a present!" I gulp, feeling dread slowly drown out the panic, don't worry, the panic makes a comeback when he steps aside and reveals something I expected, but REALLY didn't want to see. A tied up Loki.

Phew! I was worried I was gonna have to stop this series cause I couldn't come up with any more villains. Who is this guy? What is he doing to Loki? Will Loki die next chapter? Maybe. I don't actually know yet. I made up this villain (probably, still don't really know. Might end up making it a DC crossover???) cause MARVEL has like, NO good villains. Sorry. Anyway, I probably won't be updating for awhile as I have a 3-week sleepaway camp I'm going to on the 9th.
