"What movie are you thinking tonight?" asked Jack as we walked back to the hotel. The boys were in front of us, laughing and joking. Ashton kept on throwing glances out way, and it was making me worried. Even after the moment in the kitchen, I still thought that Ashton didn't have any interest in me. I guess I was wrong, since he shot a glare at Jack when he said that.

"Um...I don't know. What's out that's good?" I asked.

Jack shrugged.

"I'll check when we get back to the hotel," he said. "You have any genre in particular you're dying to see?"

I thought for a moment. No offense to Jack, but I felt like it would be kind of awkward if we saw some romantic comedy. Dramas were my thing, but I got really into them, and I didn't want him to think I was too intense. I guess a comedy or a horror film would do.

"Comedy or horror?" I suggested, hoping he'd go for comedy. I've never been one of horror films, and I often peed my pants whenever I saw something remotely terrifying.

Jack smiled with devilry.

"Horror it is then," he cackled. I felt my stomach drop a bit, but I ignored it. Maybe I'd be able to stomach the gore and blood this time? I doubted it.

"What are you guys talking about back there?" called Ashton, turning his head to look at us. He kind of made a face at Jack when they locked eyes.

"We're seeing a movie," grinned Jack, and I detected just a hint of triumph and pride in his voice. It was as if he was trying to prove himself to Ashton, defending his "territory" so to speak.

Ashton frowned a bit at Jack and then looked at me, smiling as he did so.

"What sort of movie?" he asked, dropping back from Calum and Mikey to walk next to me. I felt Jack bristle next to me as Ashton took my other side.

"Horror," snapped Jack a little aggressively. "Tonight, during your guys' concert."

I saw Ashton's eyes flash a bit, and I could tell that Jack was intentionally mentioning the fact that Ashton couldn't tag along. I had a feeling Ashton knew too, because he said with some acidity, "Oh, that'll be fun." He narrowed his eyes at Jack, while Jack held his gaze, a slight smirk on his face.

We arrived at the hotel then, and Ashton broke their gaze to walk back to Cal and Mikey, his face sour. I felt a little bad about it; even though I wasn't sure how Ashton felt about me, I knew that his pride was probably a bit injured by Jack's attack on him. He still carried himself with some of his injured pride still intact, but I could tell he was upset about it because he shot me a sad glance as he went through the revolving doors of the hotel.

Oh, this was so confusing. Did Ashton even like me, or was it just a ploy? I was pretty sure Jack's feelings were legit, (I mean, we were going to spend the next two weeks with each other, so of course they had to be), but with Ashton I couldn't tell for sure. Yes, we did have that moment in the kitchen - the moment that had been keeping me up at night, wondering if it meant something more - but other than that, Ashton had showed few signs of actually liking me. I would have to figure this out soon, because it seemed to me that there was a lot of miscommunication going on already.
