Clint's POV
Pietro. Pietro. Pietro.
He was running, zooming through the foliage.
Pietro. Pietro. Pietro.
Someone, no, something was chasing him. He had to get away.
Pietro.
It caught him.

I woke up, sweat running from my hairline, my neck, and down my arms. Another dream, another kill. This silver haired kid, he can't catch a break.
I knew it was early in the morning, judging from the minimal amount of light pouring into the room, I'd guess about 5 o'clock.
Sighing, I dropped back onto the cool pillow, wanting to make the boy's problems go away. I'd been having these dreams for about two weeks now. They all consisted of the poor kid, Pietro, running from something. He always got caught. He was pretty fast though, faster than a normal human.
A knock on my door woke me from my thoughts, alarming me. My door opened, revealing Natasha. I sat up, wiping the remaining sweat off of my brow.
"Clint? Hey, I heard you breathing pretty hard. We've got thin walls," She said, a smile lighting up her face.
I closed my eyes, nodding. "Yeah, I had the dream again, he keeps getting caught Nat," I said. Natasha knew I was worried about the boy. Why would I be having these dreams if they didn't mean something?
She gave me a knowing smile, coming to sit with me on my bed. "It's okay, I'm still trying to find him, don't worry," She reassured me, putting her hand on my knee.
I nodded, sighing. The kid isn't okay. I feel an uncontrollable urge to find him. I always will. "Nat, maybe we should tell Tony, these dreams can't be any good," I suggested, knowing it would piss her off.
"No Clint, you'd never get any sleep. Tony would work you to the grave trying to figure everything out about this, let me handle it," She said, moving her hand off of my knee. I nodded, knowing there wasn't any argument to have. It wasn't worth the effort.
I suddenly felt very tired, which normally meant I was going to have another dream. I laid back, letting the warm feeling wash over me.

"Clint, help me, please!" Pietro called out. I stared in alarm, this is the first time he's reached out.
I held my hand out, hoping he could see me. It seemed he couldn't. Pietro looked frantic, as if he were about to lose everything. "I- I know your name, I need to talk to you, he's coming Clint," Pietro said, trying to find me. I just wanted to save him.
"The bad man, he's coming, warn your friends," He warned, shooting a serious glance in my direction. He senses me, I know it.
Pietro ran, zooming away in a silver blur, leaving me alone in the woods.

I woke up again. Nat was staring at me, a worried look on her face.
"I'm sorry, I had another dream," I explained, sitting up. She nodded and stood up, ready to leave.
Suddenly, Nat looked back. "Clint, I trust you. I trust your instincts, so if you think telling Tony is best, go ahead," She said, putting on a false smile. I only nodded.
After she left, I tried to get a few extra hours of sleep, which ended up failing. After a while I went to the gym downstairs, ready to train. Steve was down there, getting in his early morning training before actual training.
"Morning Clint, did you sleep well?" Steve asked, kicking the punching bag hanging from the ceiling.
I rolled my eyes at the mention of sleep, tired of everything already. "Not at all, don't worry about it though," I said, going to the archery station.
Steve laughed, finally punching the bag off of the rafters, breaking it. "Well maybe Tony could find some sleep medicine for you, that will help," He offered, putting another bag up. We only have two more left.
I nodded and shrugged, loading up my bow with an arrow. I pulled my string back, staring at the bullseye. I smirked, letting go of the string. The arrow went flying, slamming into the bullseye as planned. I love it when it the target I designate for my arrow, even though I never miss.
"Hey Steve, is Tony asleep?" I asked, the question suddenly slipping out of my mouth. I saw Steve's head shake out a no, after grumbling about something.
I smiled and left the room, thanking Steve for informing me. I went downstairs to the labs, knowing Tony would be down there. I opened the door to the lab, seeing Tony wearing goggles and smiling evilly.
"Hey Tony, can we talk when you're free?" I asked, really wanting to tell him about the dreams.
Tony gave me a half smile, but continued on his work, ignoring me. He had the tendency to do that, more often than not.
"Alright, get me when you're free, I won't bother you anymore," I said, not wanting to bother the man.
I left the lab, walking back to the main floor. I was tired, but I didn't want to sleep anymore. If I slept, I'd visit the boy again. I don't want to see him die again. Not again.
I sat on the ground, staring at the empty expanse on the wall before me. These dreams are tripping me out. I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in a while. I don't know what keeps chasing Pietro. He always seems so frightened, like he knows what's coming after him. Could it be that the boy knows exactly what's chasing him? Could he know how to stop it?
Clearly, it was a dangerous entity. Pietro was fast, unusually fast, if it could be as close to him as it looks... No, that's impossible. It can't actually kill him, these are dreams, but if they're dreams, then how did Pietro know about the Avengers? His friends? This is becoming too wild.
A headache surfaced suddenly, causing me to shut my eyes. The lights were blinding him, making my headache worse. I stood up, going towards my room. I'm going to sleep, I don't care if I have another dream. I laid down, closing my eyes to block out the stabbing pain in my head. I want it to go away.
I could feel myself drifting off into sleep, the pull of another dream making me regret trying to sleep at all.

"Clint! Try, try to see me!" Pietro screamed, whipping around. I wanted him to see me, I can't leave him alone. What's wrong with me?
He looked terrified, like something was hovering over him. I could tell there were tears misting his eyes, and it pained me to see him like this. I concentrated, trying to make myself known.
"Clint! Is that you? I can see a shadow!" Pietro exclaimed, looking at me. My heart was pumping fast, making me short of breath.
I tentatively took a step, shocked when I saw my foot step on the ground. "Pietro? Are you alright?" I slowly called out. The speedster stared at me, a look of awe gracing his face.
"Listen carefully, I'm going to find you and make sure you're safe, we both need it. I can't give away any information about where I am through this dream shit, so bare with me. I'm safe for now, but we have a connection, I don't know how," Pietro explained, stepping towards me.
I nodded, taking another step. We were close. "Pietro, stay safe, for me. I don't know what will happen if anything bad goes down. Stay safe," I warned, slowly taking his hand. He nodded, gazing at me with eyes the color of the ocean. I don't want to leave him.
"I'm waking up, find me Pietro, stay safe," I said, squeezing his hand one last time before I woke up.
This time, I had a grin on my face.
A/N: hello! If this is confusing, don't worry. I'm going to provide more background as the story progresses. These dreams also happen a lot, so don't be confused. The 5 "-" things mean a dream is starting/ending.
I hope you enjoy this AU! This idea came to me sometime last night, and I loved it so much I wanted to write a Hawksilver fanfic about it.
Vote, comment, and give me feedback! I love y'all so much!!
Thank you!
