Pietro's POV
I didn't actually sleep when I went to my room. Instead I stayed awake just thinking about Clint and everything that had happened lately. I still don't know what Clint and I are. Are we dating? Just friends? And what do the soft touches and nice words mean? I know he likes me, and I definitely like him back. It's not hard to like Clint, but it's hard to come to terms with it. I wonder what the other Avengers would think if Clint and I were to date?
I knew the day had begun for the others when I heard knocking on my door, Clint or Wanda would just walk in. I quickly got up and opened the door, hoping it wasn't Bruce or Tony coming to whisk him away for a day full of experiments and tests. No such luck.
Bruce and Tony stood together at the door, both looking extremely tired. "Clint's already down at the lab, why don't you come with us down there?" Tony asked, nursing a mug of coffee.
I nodded, quickly turning off my lights. "What do you have planned for us?" I asked, looking at the older men. Bruce wouldn't speak, only walking forward tiredly.
Tony rolled his eyes at Bruce and looked at me. "We just want to run some tests on your brainwaves. You know, see if you two share any brain patterns?" He explained, getting into an elevator with us.
I gulped, looking at my feet. "That won't hurt, will it?" I asked quietly, sighing heavily.
Tony shook his head, looking towards Bruce. Bruce groaned and smiled weakly at me. "No, it won't hurt. All we're doing is attaching electrodes to your heads and monitoring your brainwave patterns. Basically we're putting a few sticky circles with wires sticking out of them onto your forehead," He said, looking at Tony with a glare. Guess he isn't a morning person.
I nodded, happy he explained it in English to me. I don't understand science terms very well.
We finally arrived at the lab. I walked in, seeing Clint standing against the wall and yawning. "Took you long enough," He muttered, rolling his eyes at us. I smiled at his attitude, looking down.
Tony scoffed. "I'm sorry that we had to go get your quick boyfriend," He said, smirking at Clint. Boyfriend? So we are dating?
"He's not my boyfriend Tony, geez," Clint said, "Not yet anyways." Clint winked at me, causing my heart to beat faster than ever.
Bruce groaned and shook his head. "Can we just get on with it? It's too early for all of this," He complained, glaring at Tony. "I mean, this shouldn't take too long right?" He asked, going over to type on a computer.
Tony made Clint and I sit in two chairs as he attached the electrodes to our heads. "All you two have to do is sit there and try not to make googly eyes at each other," He said, going over to the same computer.
After a few hours of sitting in silence, Bruce made a noise. "Hey Tony, come look at this," He muttered, putting on his glasses. Tony moved over to the computer and stared at the screen in awe, shaking his head.
"What? Something wrong?" Clint spoke up, glancing over at me. "You can't withhold information, you know."
Tony looked at Bruce, silently telling him to explain. "If you two have any shared brain waves, it would have shown up by now. We've got nothing at all," He said, turning the monitor around to show us the separate patterns.
Clint shook his head, pulling the wires off. "So that means you have no clue what the hell these dreams are about?" He asked, moving to the computer to get a closer look. I quickly took off my wires and followed, pretending to understand.
Bruce nodded, sighing. "Unless it only happens when you two are asleep, which is a test we could run at night," He said, looking at us both.
Tony moved over to a cabinet, grabbing two tiny jars and two needles. "Do you guys mind if I draw a little blood? I want to test something," He said, placing the objects down on a table.
Clint nodded, rolling his sleeve up. I stared at the needles, shaking my head. "No way, I got experimented on enough. You told me this wouldn't hurt, Tony."
The three of them looked at me, sighing. "Pietro, it won't hurt, I promise," Tony said, walking over to Clint. "It won't hurt Clint, and I would never hurt him."
I sighed and stared at my feet, taking a deep breath. "Fine, but no more needles after this, got it?" I asked, sticking my arm out.
Bruce and Tony drew blood from us, quickly putting the tiny jars into a small refrigerator. "What did you got experimented on enough?" Bruce asked when he walked back, leaning against the table.
I shook my head, internally groaning for mentioning it. "Strucker would do all sorts of things to Wanda and I, experiments, tests, other things," I explained, rubbing my arm. Clint put his arm around my shoulders, squeezing lately.
Tony nodded, looking over at Bruce. "Well, we aren't going to do anything completely unnecessary to you guys," He said, smiling at me. I nodded, rubbing my eyes.
"Are we done? I haven't eaten in a few days," I said, shaking my head. Clint sighed and smiled at me.
Tony and Bruce nodded, shooing us out of the lab. "Let's get you something to eat, you should have said something earlier," Clint said, shaking his head and taking my hand.
Clint and I walked hand in hand to the kitchen, talking about nothing. When we reached the kitchen, I let go of Clint's hand to lean against the counter. He walked over and stood beside me, smiling.
I smiled back, touching his hand with mine. "What do you want to eat?" He asked, looking down at our hands.
I thought for a moment, smiling to myself. "I want a sandwich, I don't care what kind," I said, letting out a deep breath.
Clint went around making me a sandwich, asking me every few seconds or so what I wanted on it. When he finished, he had made us both sandwiches. We sat down at the counter, talking and eating.
It was an amazing end to a mediocre day.
