When I look outside,
I'm no longer afraid. Now
Lethargy consumes.

This headache remains.
Always it hides, waits, creeping up...
Paralyse cognition.

I feel the threads
As they slowly snap, snap, snap.
I'm losing my grip.

         *     *     *

This is not working
I can't do this anymore.
Darkness welcomes me.

Cold, bony hands pull
Me under inky black water,
I am soothed once more.
