It had been a week since Robin's shock announcement and Elena was now thirty weeks pregnant; she hadn't been herself since the Dutchman had dropped the bomb that he wanted a divorce.

Elena was currently curled up in Roxanne's spare room wearing her light blue pyjama set; she hadn't really moved much since she had entered the house, and Roxanne and Coleen were starting to worry about her and her unborn daughter.

"Do you want any breakfast Lena?" Coleen asked softly, sitting next to her friend on the bed, the brunette shook her head; she hadn't really spoken to anyone since she had last seen Robin.

Elena didn't want to believe that her marriage was actually over, she didn't know what to do anymore and she kept expecting for divorce papers to arrive.

"You have to eat Elena... think of Arabella," Roxanne coaxed but she knew it was pointless; the brunette just didn't seem to function without Robin anymore and she was worried what would happen if she carried on this way.

The last thing that they needed was for Elena to find herself in hospital, they had already heard that Nemanja's and Robin's case would be going to court since Ewan was pushing for them to both be punished.

"I'm not hungry," Elena said staring at the wall opposite her, she didn't remember the last time that she had moved or had left the room since she had arrived; she wanted to be alone and she hated how pathetic she was being.

Coleen looked at Roxanne concerned, they knew that the only person that could bring Elena out of this was Robin but he hadn't turned up to training at all the last week; it was clear that there was something going on here and it was worrying everyone.

No one was sure what to do and they were all concerned that if things carried on then there would really be a divorce on their hands, no one believed that Robin wanted to lose Elena and he had only acted out because he was scared.

"Okay... I'll make you a sandwich and leave it on the side just in case you change your mind," Roxanne insisted signalling for Coleen to follow her out of the bedroom; they weren't going to change their minds about this.

Heading downstairs, the two women were silent until they reached the kitchen and where sure that Elena wasn't going to be able to hear them; they both knew that something had to be done about Robin and Elena.

"I'll ask Wayne to go around the house again tonight," Coleen said making Roxanne nod as they tried to think of ways to get through to Robin; he had sent the children off to his parents in Rotterdam so that they would be safe and they were all worried he might do something stupid that would cost him everything.

There was no judge in the world that was going to believe the lies that Ewan was telling, he had no evidence to show that Robin and Nemanja had been the ones to attack him; they would be cleared of all charges and everything would hopefully go back to normal.

"We have to do something... I don't know how long Elena can last like this," Roxanne said preparing a sandwich for the younger brunette; when she got her hands on Robin, she was going to make him pay for doing this to her friend and that he would never do it again.

The last thing that any of them wanted was to see Robin and Elena get divorced, the men would go and speak with Robin after training and hopefully get him to see sense that pushing everyone away wasn't going to protect them from what Ewan had planned; it was only going to make it all so much worse.

Robin wasn't fairing much better than Elena, he had hulled himself up in one of the guest bedrooms and had been drinking himself stupid ever since; he hadn't been able to wrap his head around the fact that he had lost Elena.

He also couldn't bring himself to attend training since Robin knew that his team-mates would be less than pleased with his drastic decision to ask Elena for a divorce; they would torment him more than he was tormenting himself.

Robin couldn't bear the thought that he would have to listen to them talking about how broken Elena was, he knew from the moments the words left his mouth that he had hurt her and that hadn't been what he wanted to do.

"Why am I such an idiot?" Robin asked himself, he was currently locked in the bedroom where he had stayed since he had sent Shaqueel and Dina to stay with his mother in Rotterdam so that they didn't have to see him like this.

Everyone was better off without him messing things up for them, Robin was sure of that and they were safer not being home with him; they wouldn't have to worry about Ewan coming to hurt them.

"I love her," Robin murmured to himself getting himself to his feet before wobbling into the bathroom, he looked at himself in the mirror for a moment; he looked so pale and ill that he almost didn't recognise himself.

Closing his eyes, Robin rested his head against the mirror, Robin listened to the pounding on the front door knowing that there was no way he was going to answer that; he felt tears fill his eyes before he looked at himself again disgusted with himself.

"You've cost yourself the one good thing in your life," Robin said to his reflection before he raised his fist and started to punch the bathroom mirror, he continued for a few moments until his hand was covered in his own blood.

Sinking to the floor, Robin clutched his hand for a moment before he heard someone shouting through the letter box; it sounded like Nemanja but Robin couldn't bring himself to care.

"She loved me... and I broke her heart," Robin murmured as his eyes caught on a bottle that fallen to the floor across from him when he had smashed the mirror of the bathroom cabinet.

It was at that moment that he heard the front door give way and the sounds of his worried team-mates entered the house, unscrewing the lid of the bottle.

Robin felt numb realising that this was the perfect way to escape, he couldn't live without Elena in his life and he doubted that she'd take him back after what he had done to her.

Nemanja sighed hurrying up the stairs of Robin's home, he hadn't like the sound of crashing that he had heard before and with no sign of Robin; it was starting to worry him what his friend might have done.

Spotting a small glimmer of light from under one of the bedroom doors, Nemanja quickly hurried forward and pushed his way inside; he wrinkled his nose in disgust at the smell.

Looking around the room, he was appalled at the state of how Robin had been leaving, Nemanja wished that he would have come sooner to snap him out of all of this; he had thought that by giving Robin time to think he would have come out of this himself.

Moving towards the bathroom, Nemanja felt his stomach drop and he wanted to throw up at the sight of Robin collapsed onto the tiled bathroom floor.

"Christ Robin no... Rooney call an ambulance," Nemanja demanded rushing over to the Dutchman's crumbled form; he didn't know how Elena would take this when she found out.

This was not what any of them had been expecting when they had come to speak with Robin, Nemanja could only pray that the ambulance would get here in time before it was too late.
