Words: 1160The second thing I had to write for ninth grade English, this time we were supposed to write about relationships and I went for a sibling one. This is honestly one of my favorites because my teacher wrote this whole ass paragraph about it saying how good it was and I just 😭
The man drove down the dark quiet rode, slightly drifting into the other lane in a drunken stupor. He quickly righted himself and swerved off the road before speeding back into place. The road was mostly empty, and poorly lit with street lamps dotting along the side every mile. The car radio was off and silence reigned through the night. Crickets weren't chirping and the creatures of the forest were all asleep. Dead silence reigned down the stretch of road.
The man started to doze off, losing his grip on his steering wheel. The car drifted into the opposite lane.
He didn't notice the poor headlights coming at him, and the other car noticed too late. They looked up with wide eyes and spotted his car and quickly swerved, waking the driver causing him to push down on the gas, speeding into the side of the other car.
The two collided, the other car flipping over as the man hit the steering wheel and was knocked unconscious on impact. The other car rolled for a short while before stopping, planted in place with the roof of the car on the ground. Inside the car, the driver's heart stopped soon after the car did.

"Wake up!" Someone shouts into your ear, as they shake your shoulders, "Come on, wake up!"
You let out a groan and slowly open your eyes and find the similarly colored one's of your sister, "What time is it?"
"It's almost noon, loser," she says with a smirk as she climbs off your bed, "Now come on, you promised to take me shopping."
"Let me get dressed," you say escorting her out of your room and shutting the door behind her. You turn back to your room and quickly grab some semi-clean clothes off the floor before pulling them on. After putting on and tying your practically destroyed sneakers, you make your way out of you room to meet your little sister.
"Hurry up!" She whines from downstairs.
"I'm coming, Ellie!" You shout back as you hop off the last stair, landing in front of her, "I'm ready, are you ready?"
"Of course I'm ready," she says rolling her eyes.
"You sure about that, Eleanor?" You ask looking down towards her bare feet.
"Yes-"
"Nice shoes, I like them," you smirk at her causing her head to snap down and look down at her colorful socks.
"You know what," she says pointing at your chest before stomping up the stairs to go retrieve her shoes.
"What?"
"Not a word!"
"Don't forget Watson!" You shout up at her.
"I grew out of Watson years ago," she says as she comes back down the stairs, shoes firmly tied on her feet.
"Is that why he's on your bed?" You say.
"Whatever," she grumbles, crossing her arms over her chest as she walks out the front door towards your car.
You snort in amusement as you follow her out, closing the door behind her after grabbing your keys. You walk towards your car and quickly unlock her door. As she gets comfortable in the shotgun seat, you make your way to the driver's side and get in yourself. Placing the keys in ignition, you start the car and make your way down the street towards the closest shop.
Eleanor hums a tune besides you as she plays with the window. Rolling it up and down. Up. Down. Up. Down. The noise starts to bother as you try to focus on driving. You look over at her, "Could you not do that?"
"Do what?" She asks looking over at you innocently. Up, down.
"That," you say annoyed, "Rolling the window up and down."
Up. Down.
"Eleanor," you warn glancing away from the road to glance at her.
"Fine," she grumbles and promptly leaves the window alone.

Your shopping trip with Eleanor ended up lasting the entirety of the day. She just couldn't make up her mind about what she wanted to get. You two ended up going through many stores before she found something she liked. Once you did, you stayed in the store for most of the day, then she went back to the other stores to see if she missed anything.
But, eventually, you managed to drag her out of the mall with the four bags filled to the brim with clothes. By then, it was already night. You took her bags and placed them in the back seat as she made herself comfortable once more in the passenger seat. You got into the driver seat and sped out of the parking lot and onto the road back into town. Sadly, the highway back into town- the fastest way into town- was clogged with traffic. So, you took a back road.
Which lead you to where you are now: driving down a poorly lit two lane road back into town. The road is empty, and lamps are posted about every mile. Everything is quiet besides the white background noise of the radio Eleanor put on not too long ago. She hums along to the song as she discreetly tries to reach for the button that controls the window.
You notice it out of the corner of your eye, and quickly move your head to look at her in the eye, not bothering to look at the road considering its completely empty. She levels your gaze, "Don't you dare."
"Or what?" She responds haughtily.
"I swear," you start, "if-"
"LOOK OUT!" She shouts pointing out the windshield.
You look up quickly with large eyes and immediately spot the black car coming towards you. You jerk the wheel to the side, maybe a little too roughly. The other driver looks up drowsily and speeds up, slamming into you. Combined with the abrupt turn, your car starts to flip with you and Eleanor inside.
It turns and turns down the street, tossing the two of you around like rag dolls. Glass embeds itself in your skin, and you can faintly hear something crack. Probably your arm. Your head bangs against the door harshly, way too hard to leave you without damage.
Soon enough the car stops, and you and Eleanor are stuck hanging upside down. Faintly you hear Eleanor shouting for you, but it gets fuzzier and fainter as you close your eyes for the final time.

Eleanor wore a lovely black dress as she walked with your parents behind the priest. Watson was clutched to her chest, she'd gone back to depending on him for comfort again. She sat quietly in the front row as the priest said some kind words, but she wasn't paying attention. She was staring into nothing, occasionally muttering words here and there to Watson.
Your parents were concerned about her, she wasn't acting herself anymore. Flinching at little words and hugging Watson closely. She misses you. They all miss you. Your mom, dad, aunt, and uncle. All your friends. Eleanor.
Especially Eleanor.
