This is meant to be a fairy tale. It was one of three things I had to write for my ninth grade English.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Eleanor who was running. She was running from hideous, deformed monsters. They chased her through the alley ways of the city she resided in.

Eleanor took a sharp turn out of the alley way and ended up in a very busy Time Square. The crowds she pushed through were moving so fast, they just left a mere blur of color behind them. The taxis and other cars were doing the same. Just blurs of color to say that anything was ever there.

The brunette ran through the crowds and promptly ran out of Time Square and into a beach. She ran along the shore, risking the look behind her only to see that the monsters were getting closer. Eleanor turned her head back around and continued to run forward, only to trip over something in the sand and fall to into the grains.

She looked to see what she tripped on, and was happy to see her cat Watson, "Watson!" She cried happily before picking up the cat and sprinting away from the advancing monsters.

"Eleanor!" One of the three monsters shouted as it reached out to grab the end of Eleanor's gray sweatshirt.

The gray clad woman just sped up, causing the pants of her gray sweatpants to flap around her ankles. She tried to run further away from the monsters, but their was no where to turn on the empty beach. Sand looked as though it went on in every direction, besides one. Eleanor looked out into the ocean and watched the waves as they moved in slow motion, like they had all the time in the world to crash upon the shore.

She had momentarily forgotten about the monsters that were chasing her, and that proved to be a tremendous mistake.

Eleanor hit the surprisingly hard sand as the monster tackled her to the ground. It's arms were wrapped around her waist to keep her still on the ground. She had zero control over the situation, so, as she saw the other two monsters approach, she screamed.

Watson quickly scrambled to his feet from where he had been knocked to when the monster tackled Eleanor. He ran across the concrete sand and seemed to fly towards the face of the monster that had a grip on Eleanor, causing it to release it's hold on the girl in shock. She took the moment of shock to send a kick to the monster's chest before quickly getting off the ground and running away.

As she ran across the beach, and into the deep forest away from the monsters. She ran in and out of the trees, occasionally looking back only to once again see the monsters gaining on her. Eleanor turned back around and continued to run, but soon had to stop herself.

A wall, one that was not there a moment ago, made out of oak wood stood in front of the girl. She looked up, trying to see how tall it was (maybe she could climb over it), only to see the wooden wall soar above the clouds. Then, she looked left, and it continued on seemingly forever. When she looked to the right she was met with the same result.

She turned around quickly as she heard the sound of footsteps pounding on concrete and came face to face with the three monsters. The girl backed up to the wooden wall and wept knowing there would be no way of escaping. Eleanor closed her eyes as the monsters approached her. One of them touched the crying girl, causing a short bout of pain to shoot up her arm before she fell unconscious.

The doctor and his two nurses chased their patient Eleanor through the halls of the mental hospital. She ran ahead of them, turning every now and then into a different hallway.

She passed a picture of a time lapsed Time Square as she pushed through the gurneys and carts in the hallway. She passed a picture of the ocean with a wave stuck mid-crash. As she ran passed the picture she tripped over the leg of a gurney causing her small stuffed cat to fall from her pocket.

"Watson!" She cried happily, holding the stuffed animal to her chest before continuing to run away from the doctor and nurses.

"Eleanor!" The doctor shouted to the girl as he reached out for her standard gray sweatshirt that every patient wore. The patient ignored his attempts to grab her and sped up, running against the tile floor.

The doctor and nurses tried to catch up with the girl, but were unsuccessful until she stopped in front of the elevator. She looked further down the hall, behind her which was just a plane empty wall, and towards the way the doctor and nurses were. Eleanor looked back at the elevator, and as she got ready to press the down button. The doctor tackled her to the ground.

She let out a scream and promptly threw Watson at the doctor's face before giving him a hard kick in the chest and running off once more, past a picture of a dense oak forest. Eleanor weaved throughout the gurneys and carts once more before she hit a dead end. She looked up, and left, and right and had nowhere to go.

She turned around to face the doctors and nurse as she let out a sob, and closed her eyes, as the doctor approached and jammed a sedative into her arm.
