As we approached the door for English, we made eye contact for the first time and smiled. The really tall teacher that we had looked up and down at the both of us. 'Get in you little shits!' Shouted the teacher. 'Gosh, the teachers in this school' I whispered to Rafael as we walked towards the back of the room where our seating plan was. 'Your very quiet you know!' Rafael giggled,as we sat down. 'Thanks...I guess' I giggled back. 'BE QUIET RAFAEL AND LOLA YOUR INTERRUPTING THIS LESSON!' Shouted Miss Hawktree, slamming her hands on the desk at the front making everyone on that row jump. 'Okay then' I muttered to myself. 'What was that little miss Bitch?' Miss Hawktree said, going right up to my face. 'She said okay Miss' Rafael said before I could get a word in edge ways. 'Good, I don't want cheek in my classroom!' She stumbled away from our desk and went on to teaching the lesson.
After the lesson, I was glad to get out of there because we had a break time. 'Come on, let's go to the hall!' He shouted,grabbing my wrist running and nearly making me fall on my face. I caught up with him. We got to the hall and loads of yr9 boys and girls were there all hanging round an throwing stuff. 'So what do you think of this school so far?' Rafael asked, making eye contact with me. 'I think it's great better than my primary school anyway!' I replied, making eye contact back. 'You don't have to be shy around me you know! I'm your friend you can talk to me anytime ya like!' He said,nudging me with his arm. 'I get shy around people I barely know Rafael I'm just...I don't know just moving from a small school to a massive school is a big change for me. I got bullied all the time for my blondy-gingery hair. they used to call all kinds of names all the time' I started to go quieter and quieter. 'Heyy..don't worry I won't say anythin to you like that!' Rafael confidently said, putting his arm around my shoulders, walking me to my next lesson.
Suddenly, I felt nervous and funny at the same time. I hadn't felt this feeling before and it was like I felt sick all of a sudden. Could it be...?
