Chapter 9

Todoroki POV
I am currently sitting in Midoryia's living room with him and his mom. Listening in on their conversation. I have to be honest I am shocked at how lively he appears when speaking with his mother. Just a few minutes ago he was a emotional mess on the school roof and she has no idea...

Suddenly the alarm on the stove went off startling Midoryia's mom. She hastly jumped up and running over to the stove. I look over to Midoryia who has a solemn expression on his face. My expression immediately softens and I flash a small smile at him from across the room. He responds with a sad smile then turns back to his mom who begins speaking again.

"Todoroki was it? Why don't you and Izuku head upstairs for a little bit while I finish diner." She says with a smile.

I turn to face Midoryia who has a worried expression on his face. He takes a breath then looks up at me.

"Hey um Todoroki do you want to saty for dinner? Although I think it's already been decided." He states with an awkward smile and a slight giggle.

I laugh then nod my head.

"I would love too."

He smiles at me genuinely then starts walking upstairs. I follow him assuming he is walking to his room. After walking upstairs I notice a few doors. Two blank ones then a door at the end of the hall with a sign on it that says Izuku. He opens said door then gestures for me to enter. I do,  then walk to the center and sit on the floor. Midoryia closes the door softly then sighs. Walking over to his bed then crawling under the covers. He basically disappeared into the comforter. I scoot myself over to the edge of his bed. Then gently move the covers away from his face.

"Are you ok?" I ask him brushing his hair out of his face.

He sits up still wrapped in his blanket.  Then shakes his head no as tears start to form in his eyes. I stand up then sit next to him on his bed.

"Midoryia, please tell me about Bakugo. What did he do?" I ask scooting closer to him and wiping away his tears.

He sniffles while scooting closer to me in return.

"I want to but I can't, Kacchan will get mad and..." He stutters trailing off at the end.

"He'll what? Does he hurt you...?" I ask cautiously.

He looks at me then smiles sadly.

"I think you already know the answer." He says as a single tear slides down his face.

"Midoryia I'm so sorry.." I say as I wrap the small boy in a hug.

"What?" He stutters.

"I should have been there. If I was there then maybe I could have helped..." I mutter starting to cry.

He goes silent for a moment then wraps his arms around me letting the blanket fall down to his sides.

"Well you're here now." He mumbles as he lays his head on my shoulder.

I wipe my eyes then hug him tighter.

"Yeah, I'm here."
