A/n- I know what you all are thinking of, and it's probably that song by Victoria Justice, well this is semi inspired by that song but it's also not at the same time soo enjoy!
You were sitting with your best friend Lydia studying for your algebra final. You were bored out of your mind and ready to throw your textbook into the trash.
"Do you wanna take a break?" You asked Lydia
"Y/n if we take a break we aren't gonna do well on the test" Lydia protested.
"Well at this point I quit so you can keep studying if you want, but I'm gonna go get a snack." You respond impatiently. You were searching Lydia's cabinets for something good to eat. Crackers? No. Pasta? No. Cereal? No. Then you saw your favorite chips resting on the top shelf of the cabinet. Just your luck, you couldn't reach it. You stretched your arm up as high as possible, mumbling curse words to yourself. All of a sudden someone from behind reached up and grabbed it for you. You turn around to see Tom, Lydia's super hot older brother.
"Uh I believe this belongs to you." He spoke, handing you the bag of chips.
"Thanks Tom." You blushed. Then you heard someone yelling from the garage.
"Tom come on already we have to finish the song." You recognized the voice then realizing it was Tom's girlfriend Emily.
"Well I gotta get back to practicing." He said while holding up the drum sticks in his hand.
"See you around." You say nervously. You watched as Tom left the room and then you exhaled. You've had a crush on Tom for as long as you could remember, but he was Lydia's older brother, and he has a girlfriend. It would never work out anyway.
The next day you were walking to Lydia's house when it started raining out of nowhere. You broke into a sprint, but you ended up slipping and falling right into the mud. You got back up and brushed yourself off. Today was just not your day. When you reached Lydia's house, Tom opened the door.
"Damn Y/n your soaked and all muddy." He said while pulling you into the house. "Lydia isn't home right now, but Hold on I'll be right back." He said while heading up the stairs. You stood awkwardly in the front hall. You began taking off your shoes. A few minutes later he came back with a towel, grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt. "The pants are Lydia's, but the shirt is mine. Dry off and change into them." He gave you a smile. You took the items and headed towards the bathroom. You dried off and changed. Damn his shirt smelled good. You looked yourself up and down in the mirror.
"Okay so it's raining out, I have no ride home and my best friend isn't even home which leaves me alone with my crush." You told yourself. You felt a bit excited but nervous at the same time. You hung your dirty clothes up and left the bathroom. As you walked down the hall you heard Tom talking on the phone.
"Emily what are you talking about? I'm not cheating on you! Why would you think that? Emily? Hello?" Tom's voice echoed through the hallway and you couldn't help but overhear. You walked farther down the hall wondering if you should leave him alone. You peaked your head around the corner, his back was to you.
"You heard all of that didn't you?" He turned to face you. You nodded your head gently.
"I'm sorry about that, Emily can be a total bitch sometimes." He seemed sad.
"Tom are you okay? You know you can talk to me, we've known each other for years now" You moved closer to him.
"She thinks I cheated on her Y/n and I didn't, I swear! I love her and I would never hurt her intentionally. At least I used to love her." Tom looked down.
"What are you talking about? You just don't love her anymore?" You asked.
"This has to be the millionth time she's accused me of cheating and I'm done putting up with that. If she can't trust me then I can't be with her. It's just not worth it."
"I've been cheated on before." You spoke up.
"Tell me about it" Tom looked up at you. You both walked into the living room and sat on the couch, facing each other.
"He was my first boyfriend. We were together for about 4 months by the time I found out what he was up to. I trusted him and he decided to throw that away." You continued to tell Tom about your ex.
"What a douchebag! Y/n you didn't deserve that. How could someone cheat on someone as amazing as you?" Tom was sincere. You loved that about him. You both continued talking for the rest of the night. You felt like you've connected with him on a whole new level.
"Tom is Y/n here?" Lydia's voice echoed through the house.
"Yeah! We're in the living room." Tom yelled back.
"Gosh I'm so sorry, My car had a flat tire and my phone was dead and ugh! It's been a rough day. I'm just gonna go to bed. Y/n you can spend the night if you want." Lydia turned around and headed upstairs.
"Yeah you should stay the night." Tom smiled.
"You know what? That sounds nice. I'm just gonna go see how Lydia is doing. Goodnight Tom." You got up from the couch but Tom's voice stopped you.
"Hey uh Y/n? Why don't you and I hang out sometime?" Was this just meant to be friendly? Or did he want something more?
"That sounds good to me." You smiled and continued up the stairs.
"I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight Y/n."
