Chapter 18

Mackenzie POV

I wake up in an unfamiliar place. I take in my surroundings and soon realize that I'm in a hospital room. The recent events flood my memory and I begin to cry. I am surrounded by the lads and girls who are also crying and holding flowers and stuffed animals.

" Kenzie you're awake" Maddie shouts and all eyes dart to me.

"Yeah... How long was I out?" I ask curiously

" About three days" She sighs

"Three days!" I yell " How does one shot in my arm knock me out for three whole days?"

"You lost a lot of blood dear" A nurse says while entering the room.

"Oh"

"Yes. Please may I speak to one of you outside?" The nurse asks politely and Louis follows her out of the room.

"How do you feel?" Brooke asks

"Pain" is all I manage to say.

I speak to the lads and girls for about fifteen minutes. They give me a bunch of gifts and fill me in on what's happened in the last three days. Another nurse gives me pain killers and water and we continue to have fun until we hear shouting.

"What do you mean I can't take her home?!?" Louis shouts and we all go quiet.

" Sir, we need a relative to sign her release papers. You need a relative or a boyfriend" The nurse replies, raising her voice a bit, obviously annoyed.

"She's ten years old, she's too young to have a boyfriend and her only relative that she's in contact with is her 11 year old sister" Louis shouts

"Well her sister is too young to sign her out, so you need to get an adult relative for her"

"Oh my God lady, what am I supposed to do, adopt her? Because I don't know any of her other relatives and she never speaks about them" Louis yells

"Well sir, do what you have to do. I can't help you with this. Please remember that visiting hours are over in three hours"

With that, Louis storms angrily into the room."Maddie, Mackenzie, do you have a father or something?" He asks

"We do, but we don't ta-" Maddie begins

"Get him on the phone. He needs to sign Mackenzie out" Louis says, cutting her off

"But we haven't spoken to-"

"I said get him on the phone" Louis snaps and the girls and I flinch

"Sorry" Lou sighs, running his fingers through his hair "Can you please just get him on the phone"

"Fine. I'll call him, but I'm not talking to him. One of you need to do that." Maddie huffs

"I'll do it" Liam replies and takes the phone

Liam POV

Ring, ring,ring. The phone rings and is picked up by who I assume to be their dad.

"Maddie?" He asks

"Erm no sir. This is Liam" I reply

"Liam? One of the boys my girls are on tour with?" He asks

"Yes sir"

"Okay son, what do you need? The girls never call me" He says....I wonder why?

"The thing is...Mackenzie is in the hospital and-" I start, but he cuts me off
