I sighed heavily as Lucy, Sheiji, and I walked down the sidewalk of Akimori Centre towards the bane of existence to teens everywhere- High School. Now, you might be wondering what the school of our favorite, wonderful, handsome, intelligent, most awesome protagonist is like, right? Well, I'll tell you.
It's full of idiots who don't know when to shut up, jackasses who think they're the big shit, teachers who don't know how to teach shit, girls who don't understand the word 'modesty', and a sadistic principle whom I honestly think gets a hard on whenever someone gets their ass handed to them by our dear disciplinary committee.
Pretty fucked up, right?
But the worst thing about my school, the very worst is that I feel as though everyone is very shy around me for some odd reason.
"Oh merciful Kami, it's Demon Lord Amakaze!"
"UWAH! He's so scary!"
I just don't understand why they shy away from me. Maybe I'm too handsome for my own good.
"Look at that menacing look on his face..!"
"Yeah, I bet he's planning world domination right now!"
Or maybe they were just caught off guard by the sheer cuteness of Teho.
"There's his green shelled demon summon..."
"It just watches you with demonic beady eyes...!"
Oh? It's some kids from my school. Maybe I should greet them. With that in mind, I stared at them until the looked up at me...
"Oh no, what does the Demon Lord w-want?"
"D-demons have s-super hearing... maybe he h-heard us..."
We stared at each other for a moment before I lifted my hand in a short salute.
"OH MY KAMI, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!"
See what I mean? So shy around me and I don't know why. Lucy and Sheji are giggling in the background for some reason. Weirdos. Anyway, we resume walking, but I can't help but to feel like they're eyes watching us.

"Ichigo, it's almost time." I smirked as I watched him look around before walking away with his two weird friends, but his little turtle pet was looking straight at us, or, at least, in our general direction.
"Meep."
"You're right, little buddy, they do look alike." I watched with saddened eyes as Amakaze Kyomaru walked away with no idea of the shitty things going on right now. Walking away with no idea how his life is about to be turned upside down just because I wanna be selfish. "Ichi, am I a bad person just because I want a little bit of happiness in my life? I mean, I deserve it, right?"
"Meep meep."
"I know... I know..."

*Regular POV*
"Okay, class, today we will be learning about human behavior and..." I ignored him in favor of looking out the window towards our small town.
From out the window I could see Ai Ai, Aye Café! A wonderful hangout spot, especially if you want to enjoy yummy food, but the café is most commonly known for their delicious pastries.
Why their pastries?
Well, not to toot my own horn or anything, but I would be the reason behind those famous delicacies.
I love baking anything that's sweet but that's all I can make, so don't get your hopes up.
Also, if you go there, don't mention my name. In fact, you don't even know me, we're complete strangers, if you even say you're looking for me while you're there, the manager is instructed to call the police on you for stalking me.
Think it won't happen? Ask Sheiji and he'll tell you differently.
Anyway, beside the café is Juun's Floral which is run by this guy named Maaka Juunketsu. He's a really decent dude, always willing to lend a hand, quick to offer advice and some snacks, even though they always taste like bricks and dirt, and he always has this gentle, carefree, warm smile on his face.
He's really young, only in his early twenties, and his good looks, coupled with the fact that he has a green thumb, has gain him many fangirls. Good thing he doesn't let it go to his head, in fact, he seems rather oblivious to it all. Damn dense pretty boy.
Across the the floral is an old boxing arena that's been abandoned for 10 years. Still, you can sometimes hear people talking in there if you listen hard enough.
All in all, Akimori is a pretty decent town that grows on you... Like a rash... An annoying, itchy rash.
"Amakaze-san, would you p-please read the n-next passage in English... P-please?" The teacher, Hanamori-senpai, asked as he sweated lightly.
Huh, it most be hot in here or something cause everyone is sweating, too.
I rolled my shoulders as I stood until they cracked, causing everyone to cringe, before I picked up my book and opened it to a random considering I wasn't paying attention.
"What is the reason behind humans running away? Is it the fear of encountering danger? The fear of looking death in the face? The fear of having to face reality?
Or is it an act of cowardice? Wanting to escape the harsh reality? The act of turning a blind eye towards the situations people do not wish to encounter is a tempting option.
So, the answer to the above mentioned question?
It's simple...
There is no correct answer.
Running away is simply a human instinct.
"Little brother, come grab my hand, okay!?"
Whether the reason is fear of danger or being cowardly enough to want to run away from personal demons, running away is in human nature.
"Maru-Chan, you look so cute!"
But there is one thing for certain...
"Uwah~! My baby looks so cute!"
For every person, the path that they run down always have the same thing waiting for them at the end,
"HAHAHAHA! I'm so lucky to have two wonderful sons!"
The one thing being;
"Little brother, come give you're nii-San a hug~!"
Someone waiting for them."
"Don't forget us, sweetie. We'll be waiting for you."
Buried memories resurfaced, and I couldn't get those three smiling faces outta my head.
