The next morning Rory was giving the green light to go home. Her M.R.I. and all other tests had came back completely clear.
Logan left her under the disguise of going to get them clothes but in reality he was planning a surprise for Rory's homecoming.
Meanwhile back at the hospital, Rory was going through a myriad of emotions.
She couldn't wait to get home to her own bed with her husband and kids.
She hated that she missed her twins birthday, their anniversary and she felt like she hadn't had any real bonding time with her son. A fact that was making her feel like a bad mother.
The rational part of her knew it wasn't her fault. She didn't have any control over the events that took place with her accident. The irrational part of her just made her think that she was a bad wife and mother.
Rory was ashamed to share her feelings with Logan. There was no doubt in her mind what his reaction would be.
As always he would comfort her and assure her that she was a great wife and mom.
It was also killing her that her accident had caused him so much pain.
She could tell that in the last couple of days he was getting back to his usual self.
It was just thinking about everything everyone told her about how he was the 3 weeks she was in a coma.
He looked as though he had aged 10 years in that short amount of time.
Rory had plans to spend as much time as she could with her husband and their children.
She was sitting in the bed waiting for Logan to get back when her mom walked in.
Lore: Hey sweets! I hear you're going home today. How do you feel? She asked her daughter while kissing her on her forehead.
Rory: Hey mom. I'm great. I can't wait to get home. She answered trying her best to not let her mom see how emotional she was.
Lore: Ok so do you want to tell me the truth. She told her going to close the door and sitting on the bed with her.
Rory: Mom what are you talking about? That is the truth. She responded getting a little defensive.
Lore: Rory look you are my child. I carried you for 9 months and I pushed your big head out of a very small hole after 12 hours of labor. I know you. Ever since your dad made the joke about Logan never leaving your side, you have had this look almost like guilt. She started explaining to her daughter.
Rory: Mom that's crazy. What would I feel guilty about? She tried to defend even though her voice was cracking and she was tearing up.
Lorelai looked at her child and knew that she wouldn't never come straight out and say how she feel. She decided to go another way.
Lore: Sweets do you remember when you were in highschool and I broke my leg. She asked her.
Rory: Yeah. Why?
Lore: I broke my leg slipping on ice. Your dad at the time had been working real hard preparing for this presentation. The presentation was in Tokyo with a company that could've at the time helped your dad's business tremendously. He had worked around the clock almost for 2 months. The day before he was due to leave for Tokyo, I broke my leg. Your dad canceled his trip. The company in Tokyo wouldn't reschedule and your dad missed out on that business opportunity to stay home and take care of me. Now at the time I didn't know. He lied and told me it was going to be rescheduled. When I found out the truth through your grandpa, I felt so guilty that because of me he lost out on a great opportunity that he had worked so hard to prepare for. When I said that to him, you know what his response was? Our vows said sickness and health richer or poorer till death do us part. He told me that no business deal or anything else was as important as him staying and taking care of his wife. Sweets do you understand why I told you that story? She asked her daughter while wiping tears from her face.
Rory: Yes. She cried out on her mother's shoulder.
Lore: Logan wouldn't ever leave you. Just like your dad wouldn't leave me. That boy loves you. The guilt you are feeling let it go. Look at it this way. If Logan was the one that was in the accident, where would have you been when he was in a coma? She asked Rory looking into the same blue eyes that she possessed.
Rory: Right here with him. She replied realizing fully what her mother was telling her. Thanks mom. She told her while pulling her into a big hug. What do I do about feeling like a bad mother? She asked her.
Lore: Lorelai Leigh Huntzberger you are not a bad mother. This was a accident and just that. You didn't ask to be away from your kids for almost a month. You are better now and slowly but surely you will start feeling like yourself again. Superwife and mother just like me. She told her daughter making her laugh.
Rory: I love you mom. Thanks for everything.
The woman were done having their emotional heart to heart, when Logan came in with Rory's clothes and discharge papers.
He took one look at his wife and mother in law and instantly got concerned.
Logan: Ace what's wrong? What happened? Are you not feeling okay because as bad as I want you home,I want you healthy so if you have to stay here then that's what you will do. He rambled on until Rory grabbed his shirt and kissed him.
Rory: Babe I'm okay. Me and mom were just having a moment. Nothing for you to be worried about. I'm great. I promise. She explained to him after she broke the kiss.
Lore: Sweets I will meet you at your house a little later. I have to go take care of a few things. She told Rory getting ready to leave. And I must say Logan that was a impressive rant. You both should consider changing your names to Gilmore-Huntzberger. That was Gilmore quality ranting right there my friend. She teased and joked with him before leaving.
Logan and Rory just laughed at the crazy both lovable Lorelai.
Logan: Your mom is crazy. Are you ready to get dress so we can go home. He asked his wife while pulling her over to him for another kiss.
Rory: Absolutely in one minute. She said kissing him again and again.
