Kira's silver eyes stalked the young child through the underbrush. The young werewolf held a spear as she walked carefully over the rustling leaves covering the forest floor.

The vampire lept from the ground and into the trees, getting the wolf to turn quickly, aiming her spear into the brush she had lept from before raising her head just as the vampire plowed into her from behind.

The two rolled across the ground before Kira pinned the child and bared her fangs with a hiss. The young wolf cried out in fear before giggling happily.

Kira couldn't help but smile herself and roll her eyes. "You see with your eyes too much."

"That's what they're used for!" The child answered.

"Pay attention to your surroundings more. If you had, you would have heard me land behind you." Kira explained before tickling the child getting her to scream laugh and push her hands away.

"Stop it! Stop it! Stopitstopitstopit!" Alison whined, trying to kick away her vampiric guardian.

Kira leaned back with a laugh of her own before standing up and picking up the child, lifting her over her head and sitting her on her shoulders before making her way back towards the camp. "I wonder what's for dinner." She seemed to be in thought.

"You don't eat though." Alison noted, leaning forward and resting her chin and arms a top the vampire's head.

"I still like to guess what they're going to make." Kira answered.

"I guess. It's probably going to be rabbit stew." Alison's expression lit up happily. "Did you see the rabbit I caught! It's huge! The biggest daddy's ever seen!"

"I saw. You threw your spear well." Kira smiled.

"Mommy said she got sweets for Zoe from the town market. Do you think she'll come out to play today?"

"I'm sure she will for treats." Kira laughed.

"How does she feel inside you like that. Is it weird?"

"She's not inside me. She's my soul." Kira explained. "We're one in the same now."

"But she can come out of you and do stuff by herself."

"She can stay out of me for a few days, but she has to come back to recharge so to speak." Kira explained.

"Is she 'recharging' now?" Alison asked.

"No. She's listening."

"Hi Zoe!" Alison smiled.

Kira paused for a moment as if listening. "She says 'Good afternoon little wolf. What kind of sweats did Luna bring me?'"

"She has chocolate and stuff for you. She knows you like the ones with the gooey insides best." Alison giggled. "Will you come out to play when we get home?"

"'Anything for my little wolf.'" Kira answered with a soft smile.

They made their way through the gates as the guards let them in with a smile, no longer nervous of Kira's approach.

"When do you think I'll be able to turn into a wolf like daddy?" Alison asked.

"Do you hear voices in your head yet?" Kira asked.

"Sometimes. When I was hunting that rabbit I heard someone yell at me."

"What did they say?"

"'Kill!'" She answered.

"That could have been your wolf telling you to hunt it." Kira explained. "You'll start to hear her a lot more soon."

"Will she yell a lot?"
