Dear Hyemi,

Guess what day it is! Valentine's Day. I remember promising myself that on Valentine's Day, I would confess to you. I guess it's too late for that. Promises were meant to be broken like your promise to me.

"Seokjin, I promise I will always stay with you, unlike what Somi did." You told me one day. You were still hanging onto the incident with Somi. She left us for her boyfriend one day and pretended like she didn't know us. The three of us used to be best friends but eventually, both of you guys left me alone. Somi first, then you. I shouldn't have expected you to stay. I shouldn't have trusted you.

"Okay, I won't leave you either, then." I smiled at you. At least I kept my promise.

Remember when you said you were jealous of how other girls got chocolates from other people every Valentine's Day? One Valentine's Day, two years ago to be exact, I bought a whole pack of chocolates for you.

Love,
Kim Seokjin

My heart started to fasten its' pace as I hid behind the bush getting myself ready to give the chocolates to you. I took a peek at you. Before I was able to give the chocolates to you, another guy approached you. I didn't know who he was or what you guys were talking about. You gave him a wide smile. The same wide smile you gave me. He then gave you a stuffed teddy bear, heart balloons, and a box of chocolates. I looked down at my five-piece of chocolate box. You smiled at him and hugged him. Then, both of you guys walked away together. I was so shook that I dropped the box of chocolate on the floor and just stared at you two laughing your heads off and playfully hitting each other while I was left alone behind the bushes.

That night, I gave up on confessing.
