They went back to Jack's, and both fell asleep as soon as they got there.
Jack woke up before Rye. He sighed as he saw the sleeping boy next to him, and slowly stood up. Running a hand through his hair, he thought to himself as he grabbed his drink from the fridge.
Can we keep doing this? Surely we can't keep this up. I mean, I do want to keep it up, but I've fucked up here.. Rye would fucking kill me if he knew. I can't let him find out but I do need to fucking do something.
Jack leaned against the counter in the kitchen, sighing as he texted Mikey.
- I fucked up here haven't I?
Mikey called him almost immediately. Jack took a deep breath as he answered.
"What's up? What have you done?" Mikey asked straight away.
"Rye," Jack mumbled.
Mikey laughed, "he go too rough on you, did he?"
"Hilarious," Jack said sarcastically, "i need to stop this.."
"Where is he?"
"Asleep on my couch," Jack looked over at him, smiling a little as he stirred in his sleep.
"What's up? Why do you wanna end it?" Mikey questioned.
Jack went quiet, unable to being himself to say the words. He liked Rye. I like him, he said in his head, though Mikey couldn't read his mind.
"Jack?"
"I um- I- I just- I can't do it anymore," Jack mumbled, the tear threatening to fall being forced away by his hand.
"You like him, don't you?" Mikey said softly, and he took Jack's silence as a yes. "Speak to him, Jack," he said, "you can't keep fucking around if it's just gonna hurt you."
"But I- I don't wanna have to end it.."
"Well you might have to," Mikey chuckled, "speak to him."
"He'll freak," Jack frowned.
"Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Wouldn't you rather know?"
"Not if it means ending things, no."
"It'd just hurt more later on," Mikey said and Jack sighed, knowing he was right.
---
Rye was awake when Jack came back. He'd gone to get a shower after speaking to Mikey to try and clear his head, Rye looked up at him and stood up, "hey, I was gonna ask if you wanted to come to Asda with me before I go home?" (other supermarkets are available)
"How come you're going home?" Jack questioned, then internally kicked himself for caring so much.
Rye smirked, "why, do you want me to stay?"
Jack bit his lip, feeling his cheeks flush bright red, "no i- well- you may as well stay for a bit.."
"M'kay, I'll stay," Rye smirked, "still wanna go to the shop though."
"I'll just get dressed," Jack nodded, "do you want anything?"
"Oh shit, shoes! Have you got any shoes I could wear?" Rye suddenly realized, making Jack laugh.
"Bottom of the wardrobe, go take your pick," he chuckled, sticking a thumb toward his room as he grabbed a drink.
Rye nodded and went into Jack's room, though came out wearing one of Jack's t-shirts as well as his shoes. He only winked when Jack raised a brow at him, happy to tease a little.
They finally got to Asda, and after a few minutes of looking around, and Rye getting the frozen yogurt he wanted, they heard a familiar voice in the next isle.
Jack held his hand out to stop Rye, and shushed him. "What?" Rye whispered, though rolled his eyes when he was shushed again.
Then he heard it. Shit.
"Are we gonna get caught here..?" Rye raised a brow.
Jack shrugged, "i don't know. It's not even like we've got an excuse."
"Maybe we don't need one," Rye smirked.
"What do you mean?" Jack questioned, brow cocked up. Did Rye mean what he thought he meant?
