'lunch with jisoo on friday! ^^'

"this one or this one?".

minkyung held the two pieces of clothing infront of her phone screen, pursing her lips.

it was 12 in the afternoon. minkyung had called up her close friend; kim mingyu; a fashion enthusiast, to help her choose an outfit for the day later on.

her closet mostly consisted of sweaters and black jeans, two or three blouses and a few other random clothes she didn't often wear.

right at that moment, they were having a video call so it was easier for mingyu to help her decide what to wear.

"that oversized shirt with some skinny jeans!", mingyu said, gesturing to the shirt she was holding on her right.

minkyung thought for awhile, before nodding in agreement, "looks like a decent outfit".

mingyu smiled. "who are you going out with anyway? you're suddenly putting effort in what you wear", he laughed.

minkyung scoffed playfully ,"i always put effort in what i wear".

"if you say so. anyway, who's the guy?".

"who said it had to be a guy?", minkyung laughed cheekily while she placed the shirt and the pair of jeans onto her bed.

"you tell me! when you're with eunwoo, what do you wear?", mingyu narrowed his eyes through the phone screen. minkyung hummed, pursing her lips.

"exactly", mingyu rolled his eyes playfully.

she sighed with a smile, taking her phone from the side table and sitting on the bed ,"fine. you win".

"great", mingyu laughed ,"now spill it".

"uh.... there's this guy working at that bookstore at the mall near my place... ",minkyung started. "his name is jisoo... and he asked me to lunch... ".

"asked you out to lunch?", mingyu said with a cheeky smirk.

"asked me to lunch", she said quickly, trying to keep a straight face.

"sure... ", mingyu laughed, earning a sheepish smile from her.

the two close friends then continued to talk about things they thought were worth a conversation.

"i got to go now", mingyu said after glancing up to what minkyung thought was his room clock. "need to finish up some house chores. update me about your date later, okay!", mingyu last added with a cheeky laugh.

minkyung breathed out, a small smile on her lips as she locked her phone screen and laid down on her bed.

what did the day have in store for her?

"why are you looking so anxious?".

jisoo glanced at jeonghan before letting out a chuckle ,"i'm not... what makes you think that?".

jisoo had been sitting at the bookstore counter ever since an hour after he had arrived for his shift. jeonghan couldn't help but notice his unusual behaviour.

the latter was more of willing to welcome customers and had a warm smile on his face most of the time whenever he did his shift.

he was smiling alot today but jeonghan didn't know why he seemed nervous too, as if it was his first day of work.

"i don't know... you're biting down on your lip for an unusually long period of time", jeonghan pointed at his bottom lip. "and you haven't left the counter ever since... 2 pm?".

jisoo pursed his lips, breathing out. he didn't know what to respond.

"are you expecting someone?", jeonghan asked. his expression showed concern but jisoo could detect the tease laced in his words.

"...maybe... ", jisoo hummed.

jeonghan looked like he was thinking for awhile before his eyes lit up. "is it that girl you were talking to yesterday?", he asked almost excitingly. jisoo shrugged, keeping his cool.

"come on, who else could it be?", jeonghan nudged the latter playfully

jisoo smiled, feeling his heart skip a beat at the mention of minkyung. all that he could think about that day was the fact that he was going to eat lunch with her.

"...i asked her to lunch yesterday", jisoo confessed and jeonghan gasped.

"you did?", jeonghan exclaimed a little too loudly.

jisoo looked at the latter for awhile, before scoffing at him playfully with a laugh. "yes... i did. why do you sound so surprised?".

"you don't usually do those kind of... things", jeonghan said, laughing. jisoo only looked at him with a sheepish smile.

it was true. jisoo didn't really interact with the opposite gender back in high school or even in college.

although due to his good looks, he would get approached by some. even so, he'd only have about 3 or 4 female friends. the rest of his life revolved around the same gender.

jeonghan had known the american latter ever since middle school, and they've gone through pretty much their whole lives by each other's side.

it was unusual for jisoo to make the first move. it seemed that minkyung had that something others didn't.

"you're really something else, man", jeonghan lastly added with a proud smile.

the time passed by as the two tended to the number of customers. the bookstore always looked so busy with many customers entering and leaving all at the same time.

jeonghan suddenly noticed a certain customer walk in, peeking around like she always did.

"look who's here", jeonghan said cheekily, nudging jisoo who had just bid a customer goodbye.

jisoo put some stuff away from the counter before looking up, almost instantly meeting her gaze.

he smiled, his heart simply at ease.
