The car ride break to the tower was quiet, as was the elevator ride. You could feel the anger coming off of Bucky as the two of you went back to your shared room. No sooner had the door slammed shut his arms were around you in a tight hug. Before pulling away suddenly.
"Jesus, y/n, what the hell were you thinking?" His voice rising, as he carded his hands through his hair.
"James, I need to know.." you started before he cut you off.
"Seriously, what would of you done had something like last night happened?" He asked, turning away from you. "I had a hell of time getting you down to the medical wing. We aren't even sure what exactly happened, much less how you of sustained what you went through."
"James.." he cut you off again, spinning to face you.
"We don't know how it'll effect that baby, if the extra stress is doing anything to him or her." You could hear the anger leaving his voice, frustration coming through. "All I asked was for a couple days, not just cause the doc asked. But for my own sanity, you scared the living shit out me."
You bit your bottom lip, you could see the pain in his face. You hadn't even thought how it would of effected him, you knew he would of been mad at you but not upset like this. He walked back to you, wrapping his arms around again.
"When we woke up this morning, and you were like that, I scared I would loose you and the baby. The two of you are my life, doll, and I can't bare the thought of going through this without you." He sighed, resting his chin on your head, rubbing your back.
"I'm sorry, James." You said, feeling guilty for putting him through the whole ordeal. "I didn't think, I just, I needed to know what happened."
"I know, and we need to figure out how to deal with this, whatever it is." He replied kissing the top of your head. "Can you tell me what you saw?"
"I didn't see anything. Places and things I can only hear." You look up at him.
"You know what I meant, doll." He kissed your forehead.
"I heard them, he brought them there for revenge. Talking about a facility and experiment number 4, how they stole her memories and filled them with something pleasant. And an old woman." You told him shakily, nuzzling your face against his chest. " I think they were talking about me."
"What makes you say that?" He asked.
"I don't know, just a feeling. If so that means every memory of mine is a lie." You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath of him in. "My life is a lie."
"Hey, now, not all of your memories are lies." His voice was soft as his hand slid up cupping you chin. He tilted your head, his lips brushing against yours.
Nerves, your hand shook as your eyes landed on her looking out over the pier. God, she's perfect, Bucky's voice reverberated in your head. The sun was settling and the wind gently lifted her hair, she had glanced over her shoulder at you.
"Hey, doll," Bucky's voice escaped came from you.
"James." She smiled back at him turning and leaning against the railing.
"I gotta ask you something." He said, slowly you went to your knee in front of y/n. God, please don't let my hands shake, you heard his thoughts. "Kinda important."
Your head tilted up to look into her face, you saw yourself through his eyes. Millions of thoughts blanked in his head as he continued to study her face, every freckle, every laugh line, everything about her. Her face wide, jaw slacked as she stared down at him, the orange glow of the setting set gracing her beautiful skin.
"I never thought I'd ever have a chance like this and I don't ever want this to end, would you do me the honor of being my wife?" Heart pounding, voice shaking as the little box was pulled from the pants pocket. Holding the box open with trembling hands.
You smiled against his lips before deepening the kiss.
"Doll? You okay?" You woke, looking towards the bathroom, dim light wrapping around the corners of the door.
"Yeah, just..." you heard her say as you slowly pushing your body out of bed, wandering to the bathroom door. She was looking at herself in the mirror, a little stick in her hand.
"Doll?" His voiced echoed as you eyed the test in her hands, you looked back up at the love of your life, heart skipping a beat. This has to be Dream, he thought. "Is that what I think it is?"
She turned to face him, you could feel yourself smile into his mouth as he played the memory of the two of you finding out you were going to be parents. She nodded her head slowly, biting back the smile.
You tools two strides to her, lifting her from the ground in a massive hug. Another dream come true, one that had been thought to have been stolen.
"Those moments, those are real." He said breaking the kiss. Leaning his forehead against yours.
"I didn't realize you were that nervous when you proposed." You chuckle, closing your eyes.
"Should of heard me practicing what I was going to say. My brain blanked on me when it came time." He laughed lightly.
"Well, it came out perfect." You tilted your head kissing him.
A sudden knock on your door stopped anything from happening further. Both of you turned your heads toward the door, a feeling of dread washed through your body. Bucky released you from his embrace, walking to the door. Steve stood on the outside of it, and the look on his face is what made your blood turned cold.
"There's been another fire." He stated, looking over at you.
