Your eyes fully drifted over to what had have been human, his body doubled over, hunched heavily near the top of his back. Wisps of red hair poked out above his oversized brow, his honey eyes looked sad and confused as they flicked from you to your fiancé. He walked forward using his knuckles to brace his oversized upper body. Your heart pulled for the distorted figure as it made its way to the center of the courtyard, it had to have been experiment number two, the one that escaped.
"So evidently the concoction they used on the kids would bring out any natural.. abilities." Tony stated finally coming out of the shack, book in hand when he noticed the contorted looking human.
"Y/n, I want you to stay back." Bucky ordered, his voice low as he pivoted to face the other person.
"Tony does it say what the second kids name was?" You asked, slightly looking over your shoulder towards him while keeping the tense situation in the corner of your eye.
"Hold on..." he said, flipping through the pages. "Isiah. No last name listed."
The creature lifted it head towards Tony as he heard his name, honey eyes turning hopefully. That's when you realized despite his gruesome appearance that he wasn't intending on hurting any of you. You took a step forward, reaching you arm out, palm side up.
"Y/n." Bucky growled at you, seeing you move out of the corner of his eye.
"Isiah." You called out softly, ignoring Bucky. "We aren't here to hurt you."
"I'm with the frozen wonder on this one, not a good idea." Tony quipped out, you could hear the a series of clicks come from behind you. You recognized the sound of Tony's iron man gauntlet, click into place. You shook your head and took a step forward, slowly crossing the distance to Isiah.
Bucky pivoted slowly, his lips forming a thin line as he glared hard at you. You could hear the repulsor charging behind you as you continue to creepy closer to Isiah.
"Isiah, I promise you, we are here to help." You told him softly, you were only about three feet from him.
Isiah's face hardened at your comment, the three feet suddenly became none as he crashed his full weight into your body, knocking you to the ground. You head bounced off the hard cobblestone of the courtyard, a twinge of pain pulled in your back as you twisted awkwardly. Thousands of memories flood you all at once, hundreds of emotions coursed through your body on contact. Happiness, loneliness, joy, suffering, pain so much pain.
"Isiah.." the small person called out skipping into the courtyard, hair bouncing as she did. She had such a soft smile, unlike the other humans except for the one that brought him yummy's. "Isiah, come out, come out wherever you are!"
You crept forward a bit, peeking out from under the brush, her head turned toward you. Smiling brightly, such a sweet small human.
"There you are, Isiah!"
The memory was ripped from you as you felt the weight of the man beast being hurdled away from your body. Bucky's form blocked out the sunlight as you heard a crash and loose brick hit the ground. You eyes glued to your fiancé, his eyes cold and hard as he glared down at you, every muscle in his body was tense. Slowly he turned, you looked the direction he was about to head and saw Isiah's crumpled form laying on the ground next to the abandoned charred out building.
"Bucky, don't." You stated, slowly pushing yourself up to your elbows. Your head throbbed and your back screamed at you to stop.
"Doll, stay out of this." He growled, taking another step forward.
"Bucky!" You screamed, trying to get to your feet, instead crying out as your back seized and the pain went down your leg. Tony gently slid his forearms under your arms and pulled you slowly up to your feet.
That's what made him stop, the sound of you in pain. Bucky's head snapped back to you, eyes opened wide in a slight panic. He rushed back over to you, looking you over. The sound of rustling caught his attention, you looked over his shoulder to see Isiah scurry back off into the brush. Bucky looked over his shoulder and saw it to, his head turning back to you.
"I think we're done here, and it's time to go home." He stated harshly, lifting you off the ground, your body molding to his.
"I hate to agree with Barnes twice in one day but I think we've learned everything we can from here." Tony added, walking around the two of you and unlocking the door, he opened the car door so Bucky put place you in it.
He climbed in the front seat as Tony started the car, heading back out to the hotel. The drive was quiet, no one spoke and the air was tense. It didn't get any better once the three of you arrived at the hotel. Tony went to his room as Bucky and you headed to yours. However the minute that door closed behind you the silence ended.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Bucky shouted his anger bubbling over as he slammed clothing into a bag, not bothering to face you. "You are putting our child in danger!"
You bit your lip, and kept your mouth shut. You had no way explaining yourself this time, you hadn't thought anything about it when approached Isiah. And it wasn't lost on you that when he spoke he left you out and spoke only of the child you were carrying.
"God dammit, y/n, can you just think about the consequences first before you go blindly doing something so wholey stupid? I hope you got all the information you needed, and I really hope it was fucking worth it." He growled finally turning to face you, you had never seen this much anger in his face. It seemed to just pour off of him, the plates clicking like crazy as he pulled the bag off the bed. "And I hope you get your head on straight, cause I don't know how much more of this, of putting our child at risk, I can fucking take."
He briskly walked toward you, you brought your hand up to stop him as he went to move past you but he pulled away. He glared at the door pausing for a split second.
"Don't touch me." He whispered, not bothering to face you. "Stay out of my head."
