Helium Balloons and Basketball Blues

The ball bounced up and down the floor, as Madison dribbled it down the court. Dan watched intensely as Nate was shouting her name from the bleachers.

Nate: "C'MON MADISON LET'S GO GET THAT BASKET AND WIN FOR DAN!"

She made it to the basket where she attempted to shoot. Everyone watched anxiously to see if the ball would go in or not... AND IT DID! Nate stood up yelling and screaming, while Dan stood up and clapped while remaining silent.

Nate: "DUDE BE MORE EXCITED WE JUST BEAT THE OTHER TEAM IN THE TOURNAMENT!"

Dan: "I am excited, I'm really proud of Madison"

Nate rolled his eyes and continued to jump up and down. Madison ran towards the bleachers, just as Dan started running towards her. He picked her up and twirled her around with ease.

Dan: "I'm so proud of you! You're so amazing, I hope you know that"

Madison: "aw I think you're amazing too"

They shared a quick kiss before pulling each other into a hug. Nate came over and began yelling again.

Nate: "MADISON WE WON! WE WON! I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! THE HELL HOLE SCHOOL IS FINALLY GETTING CLOSE TO BECOMING A CHAMPION! HELL HOLE! HELL HOLE! HELL HOLE!"

He ran down the halls full of energy, while the couple watched laughing. Emily came inside the gym and hugged Madison tightly.

Emily: "I heard we won, congrats! I bet Dans your good luck charm"

The lovebirds blushed. Emily chuckled to herself as she decided to leave them alone.

Dan: "maybe I really am your-achoo!"

Madison: "bless you"

Dan: "thank you. Anyways wanna hang out today once you're done your team meeting?"

Madison: "I would but I have dance. I'll see you tomorrow though and we can hang out after school then. We can also hang out the day after because you have your game, so it's my turn to watch"

Dan smiled and kissed her on the cheek before letting her leave.

The next day, Madison came to school like always and waited by Dan's locker. A few minutes passed, and he wasn't there. More minutes passed, and he still wasn't there. Miles was surprisingly early today, so when he walked by Madison asked him if he's seen Dan.

Miles: "yeah I have. He's my best friend and I have things called eyes so I know what he looks like"

Madison: "no I meant have you seen him today like around the school?"

Miles: "yeah, I have a picture of me and him on my iPod. I looked at it earlier today when I was walking through the halls"

Madison mentally face palmed and thanked him, even though he didn't help her whatsoever. After the first two blocks, Madison became worried. Dan still wasn't at school, so she decided to text him. After a few seconds he texted back. This was their conversation:

M: hey Dan, are you okay? Just making sure since you're not at school today

D: yeah I guess, I'm really sick though

M: aw do you want me to come over?

D: yes please

So with that, Madison happily skipped down to the home ec room to make Dan some chicken noodle soup. Once she got there, she was surprised to see Kevin. It was weird since he was killed by Helen Andrews, and he looked a lot more... pale?
