Chapter 46

Trixie's POV

We arrived back at Hogwarts and set Dumbledore down on the step to the balcony of the tower,

"We need to get you to the Hospital wing, sir, to Madam Pomfrey" Harry asserted, Dumbledore shook his head

"No, Severus. Severus is who I need. Wake him. Tell him what happened. Speak to no one else but Severus, Harry" Dumbledore ordered before the towers door creaked open making me stand up straight on guard, "Hide yourselves. Don't speak or be seen by anybody without my permission. What ever happens it's imperative you stay hidden" Dumbledore ordered as he stood up, Harry and I nodded before going down the stairs and hiding under the floor where he stood, moments later Draco appeared aiming his wand at Dumbledore making Harry aim his wand at him from below, "Good evening Draco. What brings you here on this fine spring evening?" Dumbledore questioned,

"Who else is here? I heard you talking" Draco retorted, the sound of fear in his tone,

"I often talk aloud to myself. I find it extraordinarily useful. Have you been whispering to yourself, Draco?" Dumbledore avoided, I raised an eyebrow as I thought of all the times I'd caught Draco mumbling to himself in the Common room and at meal times, Draco pulled a face "Draco, you are no assassin" He stated,

"How do you know what I am? I've done things that would shock you" Draco snapped,

"Cursing Katie Bell and hoping that in return she'd bare a cursed necklace to me? Or replacing a bottle of Mead with one laced with poison? Forgive me, Draco, I cannot help feeling these actions are so weak, your heart can't really have been in them" Dumbledore asserted making my eyes widened as I glanced towards Harry,

"He trusts me. I was chosen!" Draco yelled revealing his Dark mark,

"I shall make it easier for you then" Dumbledore commented as he raised his wand,

"Expelliarmus!" Draco jinxed removing the wand from his hand,

"Very good. Very good" Dumbledore praised before the tower door opened and closed making me turn slightly to find death eaters coming up the stairwell, "You're not alone. They are others, how?" Dumbledore asked,

"The Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirements. I've been mending it" Draco answered,

"Let me guess. It has a sister. A twin" Dumbledore commented,

"In Borgin and Burkes they form a passage" Draco answered,

"In-genius Draco, years ago, I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices. Please let me help you" Dumbledore pleaded,

"I don't want your help! Don't you understand? I have to do this...I have to kill you...Or he's going to kill me" Draco confessed his voice breaking before Mother and Greyback made their appearance,

"Well, look what we have here. Well done, Draco" Mother praised,

"Good evening Bellatrix. I think introductions are in order, don't you?" Dumbledore greeted,

"Love to, Albus but I'm afraid we're all on a tight schedule. Do it" Mother ordered Draco,

"He doesn't have the stomach, just like his Father. Let me finish it" Greyback commented, I narrowed my eyes at Mother and aimed my wand at her before a hand was placed on my shoulder making me turn and be met by Snape who mention for us to be quiet,

"No! The Dark Lord was clear the boy is to do it. This is your moment. Do it. Go on, Draco. Now!" Mother demanded,

"No" Snape said alerting everyone of his presence, Draco moved out of the way and Snape took his place aiming at Dumbledore,

"Severus please" Dumbledore pleaded,

"Avada Kedava" Snape cursed, Dumbledore fell over the balcony railing making my eyes widened as a small gasp passed through my lips, Mother let out her psychotic laughter as she sent a dark mark up into the sky before the death eaters left the tower, Harry and I exchanged a look before we ran down the tower and out in to the courtyard where every student and teacher was crowding around Dumbledore's body, the heartbroken faces as Harry and I passed etched themselves into my brain before we made our way to his body and crouched beside it, I moved a couple strands of hair from his face and closed his eyes before Harry cried into my shoulder making me turn slightly and hug him.

I sighed as I looked around Dumbledore's office,

"Snape's the Half-Blood Prince" Harry stated, I raised an eyebrow turning to him and went to reply but McGonagall entered the room,

"Potter, Lestrange. In the light of what has happened, if you should have the need to talk to someone" She commented as we began to leave the office, "You should know, Professor Dumbledore, you meant a great deal to him" She confessed, Harry left without exchanging a word but I turned to face her,

"Thank you, Professor. For everything" I say giving her a small smile, she nodded and I left to make my way up to the Astronomy Tower, where Harry, Hermione and Ron were waiting,

"Do you think he would've done it, Draco?" Hermione asked,

"No. No, he was lowering his wand" I answered announcing my arrival,

"In the end it was Snape. It was always Snape. And I did nothing" Harry said, we all sat on the step next to him, he handed Hermione the fake Slytherin locket,

"It's fake" I commented making her raise an eyebrow, "Open it" I ordered, she did so,

"To the Dark Lord. I know I will be dead long before you read this but I want you to know that it was me who discovered your secret. I've stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can. I face death in the hope that when you meet your match you will be mortal once more. R.A.B" Hermione read out,

"R.A.B?" Ron questioned, I shrugged

"Don't know but whoever they are, they have the real Horcrux which means it was all a waste, all of it" Harry grumbled, I rolled my eyes and stood up, as did Ron, he mentioned me to follow him out on to the balcony,

"I'm alright with it you know. You and Fred. You make him happy and it wouldn't be so bad if you became my sister-in-law" He confessed, I chuckled patting his shoulder

"Thanks Ron" I commented as we headed back over to Harry and Hermione,

"We're not coming back, are we?" Hermione asked, Harry shook his head

"We've got to finish whatever Dumbledore started" Harry answered.
