She hid the gun behind her shirt tucked into her pants. It was only a matter of time before a APB went out for her. Not to mention she just killed two cops and would be on the NYPD's most wanted list. (Fictional list of course.)
But she had one last thing to do before being sent to jail. End the life of her brothers killer. She grabbed a payphone and dialed the number she was given for emergencies.
"Hello?"
"It's me. I got out. I need to speak to you. In person, they have information on you. Information that could lead to them finding you."
"Meet me at the dock. I'll be there in ten."
The line disconnected and Whelan checked the time. She could be there in ten. She waved a taxi down and gave him the address. There were at least three rounds left in her gun and she didn't have time to get to one her caches.
It wouldn't be too long of a drive to get to the docks anyway. Patrick Murphy was going to pay for killing Noah. She did everything she was supposed to do. Noah should not have died.
And he was going to pay.
The taxi arrived just in time. She ran out of the cab before he could stop her and then she heard him cuss her out. The taxi sped off as she entered the warehouse.
He stood in the center of the room typing on his phone. He never even looked up as she pulled out the gun.
"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show," He said as he looked up from his phone.
"Why'd you kill him!" She asked.
"Woah, what? Kill who?"
"Noah! You killed him."
He looked panicked.
"You got me confused with somebody else. I didn't kill anyone. Certainly not this Noah guy."
"Murphy I know it was you!"
"I don't even know you! I didn't kill anyone!"
The warehouse doors all opened and she saw SWAT and Detective Drake and Maddox enter the building. She pointed the gun at Murphy and pulled the trigger. It went off but Murphy was fine.
"How?"
"It's easy. It all came to me in the interrogation room," Reaves said walking up behind Maddox, "I knew you'd never roll as long as your brother's life was in danger. And I knew you hated your partner by what you said before Maddox arrested you. That hurt a little by the way. But, here you are. You lead us right to Murphy."
"Thanks for that," Maddox said before taking the dummy gun.
"We faked the whole thing. Dye packs, blanks. It worked though. We took down the Clovers, and the Executioner in one move. All thanks to you."
She clenched her teeth and scowled at him.
"Is my brother dead?" She asked.
"Nope. And you'll never see him again. His choice. That and you'll be in a high security prison," Reaves answered.
"I hope you both die an excruciating death."
"You have the right to remain silent. So please shut up," Maddox said before walking her out.

3 days later:Murphy was taken to the nearest precinct and placed in a holding cell while he and McNaughton discussed the matter of him getting some kind deal. While Whelan was also in talks for a deal. But any deal involved either life in prison, or, well, life in prison.
The Nickels family was taken into WitSec and would be able to live the rest of their lives in peace. While The Clovers were dismantled for good.
All in all it had been a pretty good two days. And Murphy was revealed to be the killer of both Carter Pine's father-in-law and Zoey Ferris, the girl Dominic Nickels supposedly murdered. The prisoners who killed Carter and Dominic were given another twenty years on their sentence.
Justice was served on all accounts. And yet, both Maddox and Reaves still didn't feel as though the case was solved. Murphy did confess to killing those two, but he swore he didn't know Whelan.
Which was why they had dug our every file and were looking through everything again. This time though, they started by digging into Ian McGregor first.
"Okay, here's what i got. He's purchased two warehouses on opposing sides of the Hudson. And, he's made several cash deposits. Not to mention he transferred several mil into a Caymen's bank account," Maddox said.
"I, have DEA reports saying McGregor was seen meeting with a major drug dealer. And several arms dealers," Drake added.
"So what? He takes down his father's mob because he wants to make his own? Why?" Reaves asked.
"Maybe because he wanted his own legacy?" Cooke suggested.
"What if it's something far simpler than that," Maddox said before standing up and pointing at the whiteboard covered in photos and reports. "What if he did all this to cut ties. To make his own mob, by his own rules. Not having to do anything any of his father's old pals wanted him to do. Not to mention, double the territory. Enlisting that drug dealer, those arms dealers. He's making a power play."
"Yeah, but we can't prove it. It's all circumstantial. And he played us," Reaves said.
At that time, Mull and McGregor walked into the precinct. Maddox flipped the whiteboard around and hid the investigation.
McGregor And Mull walked right up to them and smiled.
"Thank you all so much for helping make my life a little easier," Mull said. "If it weren't for you we may never have caught the Executioner. Maybe I do owe the NYPD a little more credit than I thought."
"We'll take that as a better apology than what your superiors gave us," Reaves laughed.
Mull laughed before waving and heading into Doyle's office. McGregor was left with them.
"Thank you all so much. You have no idea how much you've helped me. Getting away from my father's business has given me hope at a new life," McGregor said.
Maddox waved Drake and Cooke out before responding.
"Speaking of which, hypothetically. If the Clovers were taken down, a huge chunk of New York would be available to new gangs and mobs right?" Maddox asked.
"Yeah, hypothetically. But, I wouldn't know anything about that," McGregor replied.
"Sure. Cause your about to walk out of this building with full immunity and won't have to worry about anyone from the Clovers finding you. Because they're not looking for you," Reaves added.
"Hypothetically, that's a lot of trouble for someone to go through just to expand their territory and restructure."
Maddox scoffed and folded her arms.
"But that's definitely the way to keep people from figuring out the truth," Maddox added.
"Maybe. But how would I know. Your the Detective. You figure it out."
Maddox gave him a nod.
"But as a curtesy, Detective Maddox. Your name didn't stick out because of what your father did. It stuck out because, there's a mark on your head. So be careful. I don't want my new favorite Detective to get killed," McGregor said before leaving.
Maddox and Reaves watched him as he left in the elevator and then Reaves looked at her.
"What do you think that was about?" He asked.
"I don't know. Probably just wanting to keep me in check. To quit investigating him," Maddox replied smirking it off.
Only she wasn't convincing herself of that.
