"All im saying is y'all gotta cut the hot and cold shit you two got going. It's pissing me off" Monte was grumbling under his breath, but I caught the whole thing as I was walking between the two bulky men. He did have a point there. Lucifer and I would be ready to kill each other one second and the next he'd be touching me and it would all go to hell.

"Don;'t be jealous" Lucifer said with a smirk.

"Nah, man. We all know who she's gonna run to when you piss her off again" Monte said winking at me and I chuckled when he bumped into my shoulder. Lucifer did not find the comment as funny as I did.

Walking down the streets of downtown took over my mind and soul. Music echoed down the streets from multiple clubs, restaurants with open glass dinning rooms were packed with customers, and the signs from establishments shone down on us, like an open invitation. I smiled to myself and followed the guys. I had never gone clubbing in my life and just the expectation had me bouncing.

"So listen to me, Emma. I want you on my side at all times. You go to the bathroom, you let me know and I'll take you. You want a drink, you ask me. Well...you don't even have an ID so you can't buy alcohol" he said to himself

"I'm not even twenty-one, smart ass" I mumbled and Lucifer looked at me from the corner of his eye and I shrugged.

"Back to the you are sticking by me the whole night. I see anything weird, we're out of there, no questions asked. You got your phone?" Lucifer end up asking Monte who nodded once.

"Alright then" Lucifer mumbled, and we walked to a club named Essence. There was a line of people trying to get in as one bouncer checked everybody's ID and the other patted everybody, im guessing for weapons. I looked at the guys, trying to figure out how in the hell we were gonna get in if I didn't have an ID.

My question was answered when Lucifer did a bee line to the red carpeted side of the line that was divided from the normal one by a white wall. VIP?

What is this man doing?

The bouncer stopped us, and Lucifer spoke low into the bouncer's ear, who looked at me up and down. Then Lucifer proceeded to hand the bouncer three folded hundred-dollar bills and my eyes widened at what Lucifer was trying to do. The bouncer eyed the money for a second then took it quickly and turned the blind eye when Lucifer and Monte showed the guns strapped on their belt, concealed by their leather jackets. I looked around and realized nobody had seen the exchange, partly cause the rest of the public was currently on the other side of the wall, waiting their turned to get checked.

Lucifer then proceeded to wrap his fingers around my hand and pulled me in, Monte right behind me. Blasting music engulfed us and I was suddenly deafened by its electric beat. I couldn't help the grin that spread on my face. People danced so smashed against each other I wondered when it had become okay to rub yourself against strangers.

Lights flashed across the dance floor and the DJ was on stage doing his magic. I felt a tug and I found myself pressed against Lucifer's side, his arm around my waist.

"Do you want a drink?" Lucifer yelled over the music close to my ear. I almost said no, then I remembered I was here to have fun and Lucifer had paid the bouncers off to sneak me in. SO why the heck not.

I nodded, and he pulled me to the bar, Monte right behind us, his eyes scanning the room like a body guard

"He needs to relax" I told Lucifer and he turned to look at Monte.

"Monte, man! Chill your shit" Lucifer said with a grin, his arm glued around my body.

Monte gave Lucifer a look and crossed his arms, his eyes looking around the dance floor. Lucifer ordered us drinks and paid in cash, not wanting to leave his card information at a place like this. Soon enough we found a little corner close to the bar where we sipped our drinks and I looked around at the crowd. It was impossibly packed, but then again, it was downtown Chicago.
