The school looked extravagant.

Students were dropped off by expensive cars that were driven by their chauffeurs. Whereas some parked into the student parking lot.

"Maybe it's time to hire a chauffeur." My mum joked or so I hoped she did.

"You can go on your own right?" She asked me as I unbuckled the seatbelt.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I won't.

"You have enough money for lunch right?"

"Yes ma'am."

"If you need me to pick you up just call okay?"

"Mum, would you please stop? I'm not a baby!" I was tired of being treated like a child after that one incident.

"But you're my baby." She winked at me with a dumb smile plastered across her petite face.

That was my cue to exit the car.

"Bye mum." I waved her off before she can have a chance to embarrass me even more.

I walked towards the huge double doors that all the kids seemed to be heading to.

I just needed to find the office without anyone's help.

As soon as I enter there's a sign that shows which way the office was.

Well, that went easier than I expected.

There was an old woman sitting at the desk that said "Reception" on it.

As I approached her, I practised what I was supposed to say.

"Hello. How can I help you?" She suddenly asked.

"Hi, I'm new here and was wondering where I could get my schedule?" Wow, that was smooth. Good job Jenjen!

"Name?" Huh?

"What's your name?" Oh right. Name.

"Jennie Kim."

"Jennie Kim....Jennie Kim.. oh there's Jennie Kim. I'm printing it, it will take a few, not longer, I promise." She smiled.

"It's fine, take your time." I gave her a small smile back. She was cute. Like old people cute.

"Well, since this is going to take a long time, may I ask why did you move to New York darling?" Oh, she's one of those people. Gossipers.

"My parents were offered better jobs here." Without missing a beat, I lied with a fake smile.

I'm so used to lying that I sometimes don't think about my lies.

But it gets handy sometimes.

"Oh, that's great! What do your parents work at?"

"They're just office workers, nothing too big." Another lie.

"Do you mind if I ask? How did you get accepted at this school? I mean it's really expensive and all."

"Don't you think you should mind your own business?" I retorted, absentmindedly.

The woman was pretty shocked to say the least.

She turned around, got my schedule from the printer and handed it to me without uttering a single word.

I turned around to see a light purple haired girl.

"Hi? Are you Jennie? The new student?" She asked me, uncomfortably.

"Yes. This is her."

"Oh alright! I thought I had the wrong person for a moment! Phew!" She wiped imaginary sweat off of her forehead. "I'm Jisoo, your tour guide!" She extended a hand.

Her sudden enthusiasm shocked me. I've never met someone this enthusiastic in my life.

"Yay?" I tried matching her tone but no avail.

"Come on, we'll be late for homeroom!"

Can this day get any worse?

She took my hand in hers and marched towards the homeroom.
