5. rich snobs and disappointment

I was heading outside the class with my wallet in had when a voice called out:

"Hey! New girl!"

Surely, there was a few new girls in this town.

"Jennie! Jennie Kim!"

She turned around to face none other than the red haired girl.

"Yes?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to sit with us at lunch." She offered with the same sweet smile she had on earlier. That was nice of her but I already had Jisoo.

"I'm sorry but I promised to sit with Jisoo. Maybe next time." I smiled and walked away.

"Why would you sit with scum like her?"

Huh?

I whipped back to her so fast my neck almost cracked.

"What do you mean scum?" I asked, disgust dripping with every word I had spoken.

"She's not like us!" Her voice squeaked, sounding very desperate.

"I'm not following." I replied with a mixture of confusion and anger.

"She's not rich like us."

I turned around and continued my walk to the cafeteria. I wasn't going to waste my time on someone with the brain size of a nut.

"She's just here because her father's a secretary at our law firm. My father could buy her whole family if he wanted to."

That's it.

I looked back at her. She had a mocking smile across her face.

She thought she won.

I approached her with the deadliest look on my face.

She took a few step back until her back was against the lockers.

I continued walking towards her until there was no space between us.

She noticeably squirmed held her breath in.

"I thought you were better than that. Hating people because of their backgrounds is dumb." I was so angry and disappointed. She didn't look like a person who'd have this sort of mindset.

Before I turned around, I locked my eyes with her again.

"I don't want to be associated with people that have this sort of mindset." I spat out, giving zero shits about the crowd that had formed around us.

I didn't care to look at them and shoved my way through.

A few steps later I was finally in the cafeteria.

My stomach growled.

I almost forgot that I hadn't had breakfast this morning.

That explained why I was being so harsh earlier. I was just hangry and she ticked me off.

"Alright, forget her now, she isn't worth your thoughts either. Let's just get food and find my tour guide."

I got some food, paid for it and looked around for a purple head.

There she was, waving at me with the hugest smile on her face.

It made me smile.

She's such a cutie.

How could someone hate a girl like her?
