Once Talia saw Lydia's wedding dress pass her on the day, she knew she had to leave.

A part of her begged her to do so.

She sought out Magnus who welcomed her in, seeing the forlorn look on her face and immediately questioning her.

"Why are you here, again, my dear?"

Talia sighed, slumping down on his plush red sofa, watching as he floated around the room with a drink in his hand, "I had to get out of there."

Magnus raised an eyebrow as he sat down beside her, "Why?"

"I can't deal with the fact that all these celebrations are going on when we still need to find Valentine."

The warlock raised an eyebrow suspiciously, "Is that the real reason, cupcake?"

Talia turned to look at him, his dark brown eyes twinkling mischievously as he swirled the drink in his glass, "Why wouldn't it be?"

Magnus chuckled, "You know, your Seelie blood makes it so you cannot lie to me."

The young woman huffed, before her eyes lit up, "But I can beat around the bush."

Rolling his eyes, Magnus stood from the chair and resumed his strolling, pondering how he was going to approach the closed off girl beside him. He turned to face her, putting his drink on the table and kneeling down before her, giving her a small smile.

"Cupcake, I've known you since you were born, I know when you're elated, upset, joyous or angry. I can also tell when you're heartbroken, even though the only time I have seen that before is when you were split apart from Alexander all those years ago."

Talia's eyes widened as Magnus began to tell the rest of the story that her grandmother did not hold the knowledge of.

"You wouldn't talk to Jocelyn nor me, knowing that something was out of place even at that young age. So when Jocelyn made me wipe the memories you had of him so that you were able to move forward, I had never before, in all the centuries I have lived, experienced the anguish that I did that day."

The young woman felt tears brimming as she watched one fall down Magnus' cheek. He quickly dabbed it away when he noticed. The warlock lifted himself from the ground and looked down at her, "You're stronger than you think, Talia. You have the determination and stubbornness of a Herondale, I should know, I've known my fair share of them."

She smiled up at him as he reached for her hand and gently lifted her from the couch as she tucked her dark blonde hair behind her ear and he continued, "I think you know that you want to be with him now and I know that he wants to be with you, too. If you don't do something, you will both be unhappy for the rest of your lives."
