chapter 1

Karla's POV:

*beep* *beep*

"ughhhhh" I slowly drag myself out of bed and turn my alarm clock off. it's 10:15, but hey, that's early. I look at myself in the mirror, and woah, I look TERRIBLE!! I put my hair up into a messy bun and slip on my glasses. I was just wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I put on some fuzzy socks, because who doesn't love them? lol. I walk downstairs to see my mom making breakfast.

"morning sleepy head. I made you bacon, sausage, and pancakes, with strawberries and orange juice."

"thanks mom. looks delicious!"

"when you're finished eating, get dressed because your father and I have a surprise for you"

"umm, ok?"

I finish my breakfast and put the dishes in the sink. I pick out my acid washed high waisted shorts, a daisy crop top, and my white high top converse. I straightened my hair and put a white bow in the back. for makeup, I just did some mascara, and eye liner. I wasn't in the mood to be too dressed up, but I had to look presentable. I slip on my shoes, grab my white iPhone 5S, and walk downstairs.

"it's about time!" my mom says

I just give her a sarcastic smile. "so, where's dad," I ask.

"he's outside getting the gift from the car" my mom answers

just as she finished, my dad walks in with a guy I have never met before.

my dad says, "Karla, here's someone I want you to meet."

the man says, "Hi Karla. I'm Bart, creator of Magcon. we pick special guests to have with us on the tour, and you so happened to be one of them. would you like to join the Magcon family?"

"OH MY GOSH YES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" I practically scream. I can't believe I'm going on the Magcon tour!! this is a dream come true!!

"and you can bring 2 other guests. the first place we will be going to is in San Diego. here are your plane tickets for you and your friends. see you in a few days!! and welcome to the Magcon family!" Bart says.

I didn't even have the words to explain how happy I was. "THANK YOU GUYS SOO MUCH!!!" with that said, I ran upstairs to text my friends.

K: "OMG ALEXA YOU WONT BELIEVE IT!! I GOT INVITED TO THE MAGCON TOUR!! YOU AND MEGAN ARE COMING WITH ME!!!"

A: "OMG KARLA THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!"

K: "MEGAN!!! WE'RE GOING ON THE MAGCON TOUR!!!!"

M: "OMGG!!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!"

(group chat)

K: "ok girls, I have 3 plane tickets and the flight leaves at 5:30 a.m on Friday. we have today and tomorrow to get everything we need

M: "so, we know what that calls for right?

A: "SHOPPING SPREEEEEEE"

K: "lmaoo yes!! I'll meet you girls at the mall at 2:30"

*at the mall*

"where to first" I ask. "forever 21" we all say in unison. we go to the store and go our separate ways. Megan is looking at the shirts. Alexa is looking at the shorts. I'm looking at the jewelry. once we all found some stuff to try on, we go to the dressing room. I picked out a pair of white high waisted shorts, a black bandeau, and a black flowy crop top with white details that goes a little above my stomach.

"Karla, let me see!" Alexa asks. I walk out of the dressing room and show them. "oh my gosh Karla!!! that's perfect!! here, try on these shoes too" Megan hands me a pair of black studded sandals that buckle just above my ankle. "now you're looking even better!!" Megan comments. we eventually go pay and make our way to the food court. we get our food and sit down at a booth. "so, who are you most excited to see at Magcon?" I ask my friends who are devouring their food. "I'm excited to see Matt!!" Alexa says. "I'm excited to see Hayes!!" Megan says. "Megan, Hayes is 2 years younger than us" I say. "do I look like I care? no. so I'm excited to see Hayes" she says with a smile. we finish eating and make our way to my house. we pull up into my driveway and go to my room to start packing. I picked out some high waisted shorts, crop tops, t-shirts, sweatpants(life), Nike pro shorts, and etc. once I finished putting my shoes in my bag, I needed my necessities; make-up, hair brush, tooth brush, tooth paste, hair spray, hair accessories, etc. I finished packing my suitcase and got my carry on which consisted of my laptop, laptop charger, headphones, phone charger. I finished and my friends decided to leave to go home and pack. it was only 6:45. so I decided to watch some Netflix.

after watching Netflix I realized it was 9:30. I got hungry so I made my way downstairs to get some food. I got food, ate, put the dishes in the sink, got a water bottle and went to bed.

(SKIP TO LEAVING FOR MAGCON)

I wake up at 4:45 Friday morning. I woke up confused as to why I was up so early. but then I realized, IM GOING TO MAGCON!! a smile spread across my face at the thought. I wanted to be comfortable. I put on some leggings, a baggy sweatshirt, some moccasins, and my hair into a messy bun. I go to the airport and go through security. I see my friends slowly walk up to me with tired faces. "why did you have to get an early flight" they both complain. "hey, I didn't pick. Bart just gave me the tickets" I told them.

"FLIGHT 51 A TO SAN DIEGO NOW BOARDING"

"that's us" I say with a loud, tired sigh. we board the plane and I'm 2 rows behind Megan, and 2 rows in front of Alexa. yay, I'm all alone (can you tell I'm being sarcastic?). I slip in my headphones and softly hum my favorite song, Safe and Sound. I feel someone sit next to me and I feel someone's eyes on me. I slip out my ear buds and look next to me. it's the one and only Taylor Caniff!! (hes Karla's favorite). inside I'm doing flips and freaking out. but on the outside, I'm acting cool. "hey" he says. "h-hi" I stutter. my gosh, I can't act nervous around Taylor Caniff!! "hey, you don't have to be nervous around me" he tells me. did I say that out loud? how could he know I was nervous? "yes, you did say that out loud" he chuckles. "I really need to control that" I say while giggling. "you have a really nice smile" he tells me. I just look down and blush. he uses 2 fingers to lift my chin, and says, "chin up beautiful. people need to see how gorgeous you look" I giggle and blush while looking at him in the eyes. "PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!! THE PLANE IS NOW TAKING FLIGHT" with that said, I buckle up, and soon grow tired. I lay my head back on the head rest, but I cannot sleep on that. I feel an arm pull me to them. I soon realize it's Taylor pulling me to him so I can lay my head on his shoulder. let's just say the plane ride was so far to a good start
